Mahindra 2015 HST glow issue

Hi all,
im new to the forum and have been searching for a the answer to my question everywhere.
a few months ago I was having really hard starts. 2 of 3 of my glow plugs were bad so I replaced them And the tractor started quickly. A few weeks later it wouldn’t start again. I ohmed out the plugs again and all are at about .6. So I bought the single harness 10 second conversion kit. before Installing it I noticed the glow relay was buzzing and vibrating. My tractor has the controller and relay As pictured below.

my question is this: do I have the correct conversion kit with the single harness version. If so does that kit eliminate the glow relay Or do I need a new one. I have read the new controller has a relay built in eliminating the need for the glow relay but am not sure how it would be wired.
I’ve been searching everywhere for a couple weeks and can not find the answer. Any help would be appreciated.

Read this: GLOW PLUG CONVERSION KIT FOR (EARLIER) 2015 MAHINDRA TRACTOR (19672980000)I think the right kit for your tractor may also be dictated by the serial number.
I've also read you should replace glow plugs in sets.

Thanks achingback. He serial number suggests it is the single harness but it seems there is some variation in that. I did replace all of the glow plugs as a set. the link you sent is the kit I ordered. I am still confused as to the reference to 2 relays or one. Mine has a controller and a relay. If anyone has pictures of an single or double harness install that would be very helpful. The internet does not seem to have that picture yet.

Solved. That is the dual wire kit configuration in my above picture. Easy install. The relay is incorporated into the controller with the upgrade. Also bills tractor updated their website for more accurate purchasing. the glow light now stays on for a solid 10 seconds or more. Hopefully this helps someone down the road.

Iam new to site, I have a Mahindra 2015 HST ser#041211453. I am having glow plug issues as well, my controller is the same as in your pitcure above. Would like to do the upgrade as you did . Which one did you buy single or dual harness? Have you had any issue since converted over? Thanks Jim

Jim,
I ultimately ordered the correct dual wire harness. It’s an easy install and it was about $500. No issues and the glow timer is about 10 seconds. It is worth noting that the glow plugs for the 10 second timer are much thicker than the factory ones so just bit the bullet and order the whole kit.

Well I ordered the upgrade kit and and have installed all but the glow plugs they sent,as they dont fit, the part that actually glows is to thick to fit down into head.My old plugs NGK 1724U 8v. Not the 1st time run into this issue w/plugs . You probably dont remember what # of plugs you had in there before you did upgrade? Thanks Jim

I have exact same set of controller and relay as you did ,even same part # on controller, did the conversion-easy. the glow plugs they sent are to big and wont go into head.Will be calling Bills Tractor in the a m

Jimmy,

The glow plugs that come in the Mahindra update kit are correct, yes they are a little larger than the old ones. What happens is usually a little carbon/soot gets built up around the holes and you just need to clean the holes.
