mahindra 2516 hst ?

New member here. I purchased a mahindra 2516 hst loader/backhoe last year new from dealer . I had a ford 1710 for 30 years or so. The 2516 has 85 hrs now. It seems to to use more fuel then the Ford running for the same amount of time, etc. I am not doing any hard work with it. Curious as to what other owners are seeing in fuel use. hrs/gallon? It also seems to not have much power to go up slight inclines in high gear even with no loads in the bucket. Is this normal. Fine in low. I really like the tractor, just a little disappointed in fuel use and power in high range. thanks in advance for any info.

Welcome to TBN.
I had a 2615HST and it also lost power going up a grade but only when using high range. Only time I used High range was when traveling on roads. No problem using low or mid range. There are many other threads here on all brands of tractors with HST that have the same symptoms using high range. Seems to be an issue of all HST tractors in high range. I recently purchased a new tractor with HST but have only plowed snow with it. Have not tried high range yet.
