Mahindra 2538 HST sub-gear lever problem

Mahindra 2538HST delivered today. Sub-gear lever will move fairly easily from low to neutral but I can't get it to go into mid or high positions except on occasion. When I get it to move I am not aware of doing anything differently. Tried brake on or off, low rpm, going back and forward. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hello Got my 2538 HST about 4 months ago sorta the same problem. It went into low and medium but not high no matter what I did it was like there wasn't enough room to shift it back all the way. Dealer came down and got it because my hydraulics wasn't turned up enough. So I showed him the shifter problem when he picked it up. They fixed it by removing it and turning it a little on the shaft its hooked to and never seized everything. Works fine now. Just a note you do have to put a slight amount of pressure on your forward petal as you shift the sub-gear to shift smoother I have to on this tractor and had to on my last tractor also.

I have a 2540 shuttle. The range shifter is a giant pain! L or H are relatively easy, but finding M without hitting N is nearly impossible. It was much more difficult when new, it's tolerable with 100 hours.

It gets easier with time. Almost like it has to be "broken-in"

The new Kubota L3301 I test drove was almost impossible to change ranges.

The Branson I bought is somewhat reluctant. It's getting easier as it breaks in, and I'm learning the tricks.
