Mahindra 2538 vs 2555

Is the 2555 a large CUT or is it a utility size tractor?

My take is the 2555 is a large CUT, not due to it's HP but because of it's weight/frame build. The 3550 [ or older 5035 ] is a lot heavier build, pushing into the utility size or real close [ quite a bit heavier and larger tires ].... Both are real nice tractors....

3550 has almost same pto power as 2555. Wish it wasn't quite so wide

Its the same width as the 2555 if not more narrow I would think?

3550 is about 4 inches wider making my new 6' tiller too narrow

I was looking at the specs yesterday on the 3550 and it comes listed as something like 75.5 inches wide with ag tires. r4 tires are wider. Would have to narrow up a lot. It is a heavy beast for sure. I really don't need the weight too much but figure weight is usually strength. More for my truck and trailer at the same time. The 3550 loses less to the pto than the 2555 and no one can tell me why. Dealer told me yesterday that Mahindra is releasing 30 new models at the meeting. This could be anything from tractors to attachments to utv's.

I am demoing a 6065 right now - not released yet. I believe the 6000 series will replace the 5000 series but don't quote me on this. It seems the 6065 is a gap filler between the 2555 and mPower 75/85 (cabbed models) - it is one heck of a machine.

Went yesterday and got the details of trading in from my dealer, I have a feeling the 2538 is here to stay.....at least for a while. The cost difference of about $8000 could just be financed out but probably looking at a loss of somewhere in the $2000-$2500 range to pay most of upfront but hard to say unless he saw the tractor and got things going. He said the 2555 is an awesome machine with a lot of power, but there is a reason he doesn't have one on the lot, they are a good deal bigger. He said if you have the room to use it they are wonderful but most of his sales are people needing a smaller more maneuverable tractor that didnt have to run larger implements and this is what he recommended. So Im thinking just spend the money on attachments for my 2538 like a backhoe and grapple.
