Mahindra 26 Max 26XL 4WD HST
I'm new to this forum and wanted to get some feedback regarding my Mahindra 26 Max XL. The machine is just over a year and have half old and has around 330 hours. Both of my loader mounting brackets have cracked at the cylindrical body with various bolts coming loose or missing. Some bolts have even broken in the housing. I had not previously checked for loose bolts. The Mahindra dealer took pictures and was told by Mahindra customer service that the repair would not be covered and would costs around $2400 to repair. Any thoughts?

You are supposed to check for loose nuts and bolts often and they say so in the manual and also say damage from it will not be covered. Either pay the money for the repair or learn to weld and chalk it up as a lesson in life. After it's fixed, check those nuts and bolts like you're supposed to do. Put some witness marks on them so you can tell at a glance if any have moved. Also check the lug nuts on your wheels.

Ouch. So much for that 7 year warranty.

Sounds like the dealer didn't' check the bolts when they set it up and neither did you. Still seems like a lot of damage for that many hours. Were you just abusing the loader?

If he has that many hours on it it was probably a 5 year warranty like mine. Here I am only a few hours over the 50 and now the warranty is an extra two year. The 7 year is a new thing. They keep one upping each other. I'll see your 5 year and do 6 on mine, then they come back with 7. Pretty soon they'll all be at 12 years and counting. LOL A regular warranty pissing contest.
I'd be happy with better manuals and such since they can always wiggle around doing real warranty work. Warranty can be a lot like slimy lawyer stuff. Maybe a better prep program before new tractors are delivered to customers would help too. Make all the distributors and dealers conform to a standard prep program and not leave it to chance.

Still just because they give you a warranty doesn't mean they took you to raise.

Hate to hear that - maybe post some photos so we can help you find a suitable repair.

Mahindra 5 year warranty Is for certain internal parts of the motor, I think the drivetrain is 2 years and the loader is 1 year. That doesn't count the wiggle factor that the manufacturer will try to find an implausible reason to deny.

Ok, call me cynical!

Also, the Max 28 Loader is kind of flimsy.

The new Max26 curved beam loader appears to be even more light duty.

So this is Mahinda's warranty Document

Any and all of the Posts/ Photo's I have put online regarding my improvements and use of my tractor effectively killed any implied warranty.

No honor when it comes to $$$$$.

Could be worse, for instance some car manufactures try to deny warranty work if you add floor mats. (Hope I'm joking)

Yup, learn to weld!

The machine has been quite strong and reliable for me. I try to not push it too much, for I need it around. I'm picking up tractor throw tomorrow and will post some pics over the weekend. I'm pretty sure I need new mounting brackets. The cracks are fully thru and around the entire shaft.

Look on the bright side, the tractor frame did not crack, just the attachment brackets. There are welders who can make it better than new.

I have the same model, with backhoe and MMM. I have 40 hrs now and check bolts every 10 hrs. Only found a couple that were a little loose at the first check. None loose last 3 checks. Been digging stumps, clearing brush, and built 100 yd target range. Very happy with the Max26XL. Checking bolts is easier than welding.

I stopped back to the dealer today expecting to pick the tractor up and take it home to weld. Unfortunately, my lower transmission casing on the right side also cracked off and needs replacement. I guess the loader bracket either mounted into that area or the bracket torqued down and smashed the corner off? The dealer told me approx. another $2,500 (on top of the $2,300). I have pictures which I need to download and send later.
