Mahindra 2615
Hi all. Just joined this forum today, my first post. I own a Mahindra 2615 tractor and its ready for some maintenance. In regard to the fuel filter, I looked up some info on the stock fuel filter and I found it has a 20 micron filter rating (Wix 33264). Having owned a diesel engine in my pickup, I know the importance of clean diesel fuel delivered to the injectors. The Micron rating target for truck diesel engines is much lower than 20 Micron. More like 5 Micron. I'm thinking there is room for improvement in this area. I'm curious if anyone has ever successfully added another secondary filter housing with a much lower Micron rated filter to their tractor.

Thanks

I do not know about adding a second filter. I owned a 2615 for 12 years. My BIL bought the 2615 when I decided to step up to a bigger tractor. I changed the fuel filter once in time I owned the 2615.

I will add the 2615 was a tough tractor that gave me great service.

Hi buck12. I looked at the tractor yesterday for a possible location for a secondary filter housing. There's room for one but now I'm concerned with the air bleeding when replacing the filter. Reading the manual, there's specific air bleeding instructions and it looks to be an important multi-step procedure. Now I'm considering searching for an aftermarket filter that will fit the factory housing with a better micron rating. If I can't, oh well, I tried. Like your 2615, so far this one is doing great. I wasn't impressed with the traction if I wasn't in 4 wheel drive. I fixed that with a nice fill of beet juice in the rear tires. Tractors should come standard with ballast in the rear tires.

When you buy the filter, get one with a bleed/pressure Schrader valve in the housing. They usually have spare ports and you could put a pressure gauge on it as well so you can tell when it needs to be changed.

Just bought this for 12.00....Just have to figure out how to mount it.

After over 15 years of owning my 2615, fuel filtering has never been an issue with the stock setup. Why bother fixing a problem not there?
