I bought my tractor about 8 weeks ago, I didn't want to write anything or make a reply until I had time to really shake it down. After about 16 hours a problem with the hydrolics started. It showed in the steering, 3 point hitch and FEL. I looked it over real good and found the hydrolic filter was badly dented. I'd say it was from shipping. It looked as if someone had spray painted over the dents.
I called the dealer, our local dealer in Marysville Wa. is Kitsap Tractor,These guys have been really good to work with. They made arrangements to pickup the tractor from my home. Thats about 60 miles and a ferry ride to their shop in Silverdale Wa. They had my tractor back to me in about a week and everything worked perfect. Oh yeah the problem. Someone had dented the hydrolic filter and broke the bracket.
This 2615 is some workhorse, it just keeps asking for more. I hate to say it but it's taken the place of our old tractor and doing the work of a small bulldozer. Mel

Sounds like you have a great dealer. I know you have a great tractor! :D Welcome to TBN and specifically the Mahindra forum.

I especially like sharing ideas and tips with other 2615 owners. If you have any, please share. If you have any questions about the 2615, I'll do my best to answer them. If I can't answer them, I'm sure others here will chime in.

Later,

BR

Thanks BR,
The 2615 is joining a 1949 Farmall cub I purchased about a year ago. I really can't compare the tractors they both have their good points and I like working with the old and new tractors. Mel

I am going to my local Mahindra dealer tomorrow to take a look at some tractors. I thought I was only going to be looking at tractors in the 30+HP range, but I believe the 2615 would do fine. I have 10 acres of land and just broke ground a couple of days ago on a new house. Uses for the tractor would be to rough cut (pretty bad with weeds right now) around 7 acres, maintain a driveway, garden work, someday will have small livestock. Sounds like that model will do all of that and more. I also think they have a better finance special going on right now for the 2615 gear. Opinions?

2615 is a great little machine. I got a little bigger frame with the 3215 and it is serving me well. They are tuff built and get the job done. good luck with your choice.

I think the 2615 would serve your needs well. Mine handles a 5' KK rotary cutter very well, but I wouldn't want to go any bigger. Cutting 7 acres with a 5' cutter will take some time, but you'd have to jump to the 35 HP class to really handle a 6' cutter well (my opinion for what it's worth). On a new home site, the 2615's loader and a 5' boxblade will be handy tools to have. Good luck. Keep us posted on your purchase decision(s).

Nissan, I own a 2615 HST, and use it to maintain seven of my 10 acres. Much of my use is similar to your situation: blackberries, weeds, field mowing, and moving materials. I maintain a 1/4 mile gravel road, too.

I am so glad I did not get the 2615 gear. The luxury of not shifting into reverse while doing my work is priceless. My tractor is almost 2yrs. old, I have about 240 hrs. and I look forward to many more trouble free years. Nothing has really gone wrong except for minor issues overlooked in the Texas assembly plant. My dealer took care of them.

My finance deal is 36 mo. no interest. However, there is an administrative fee, and mandatory insurance.

Anyone willing to share what they paid for their 2615 with a fel? I am looking at the gear model and was quoted a price of 15,260. Dealer just left me a message saying a package deal was now in effect with the tractor, fel, box blade, and rotary cutter for 16,700 + tax. All implements are Mahindra brand. That would be 0% for 48 months. I still think that is a little on the high side. I was thinking more in the range of 15,300 - 15,800. This is the only dealer in the area that sells Mahindra. The other dealer dropped the line and started selling TYM. Thanks.

I'm in total agreement to AchingBack's experience. I went from thinking HST was just a gimmick to being in the 'how did I ever live without it' camp. (Only got it because the unit in stock had it & didn't want to wait for the gear over such a little $.)
Worth every penny in & of itself!

Which for me also applies to the 3710 Backhoe. I knew it would be handy, but it's all that and MUCH more. Ideal way to clear lots of rough brush, move & place material, pull stumps, etc. {Is it fair/allowed to link or 'quote' one's own post here? Hope so - here's a photo to prove it will pull decent stumps}

Diggin,

Thanks for posting the link. I remember seeing that photo, which got my mind to working. That is just one more of those darn postings that is going to cost me big bucks!

Anyway, what size bucket do you have on that 3710? I'm about to order a 2710 today or Monday.

Thanks,
Knute

Knute,

I had thought the 12" bucket would be too small, but it actually gets into tight spaces so well that I'm sticking with it. In case of digging a big space like a pool or pond, the larger bucket would be better. For all-round stuff (especially getting under stumps,) the small one has been more convenient in use. Good Luck!

I have pretty much decided on a Mahindra. I narrowed it down to the 2615 and the 3215, both gear with front end loader. I will find out if they will accept my offer in the morning on the 3215 (Shuttle Shift). Salesman was off, but I left him a message and he called me back and thought the deal was doable, but he would have to find out when he went back to work. I could get it 600 dollars cheaper at a dealer 170 miles away, but I feel a lot more comfortable having a dealer that is only 12 miles away. I offered 17K with 20% down and will purchase a rotary cutter and box blade in cash from them.
Anyone know what the administrative fee is for a Mahindra loan? Does it differ by dealer? I am guessing you have to purchase the insurance through Mahindra? How much is that?

I don't remember how much the fee was, but for my rig Mahindra wanted around $25 a month for insurance. :( I joined Farm Bureau ($40 a year) and got coverage on the 6520 4WD, FEL, BH, Hyd. PHD, and rotary cutter along with my 20 foot gooseneck lowboy for around $12 a month, lump sum once a year! :D

The admin. fees and other fees will vary mainly depending on the state you are in. Some have higher filing fees than others.

Generally the insurance is cheaper if you get it through the credit company, it normally comes out to around $15 a month but that also may vary from state to state.

More expensive equipment = higher insurance cost.

I am paying around $12 dollars a month through Texas Farm Bureau and Agricredit wanted around $25 a month for the same equipment. Farm Bureau also has my trailer on the policy. It pays to shop around.

It differs by state, but in California, it is $0.00074/month x new value of equipment. $7.40/$10K/Month.
