Mahindra 2638 starter solenoid

Hi all,

I have a Mahindra 2638 OS with about 75 hours on it. When I tried to start it, it just clicked. Battery checked good. I replaced the cable ends, still no joy. So I looked at the other ends of the cables. Ground was good, but the connection on the starter end was loose. I had put no more than a 1/4 turn on it, and the post fell off the solenoid. I have looked everywhere for a replacement solenoid but have come up empty. I can find complete starters for anywhere from $325 up to $599. I hate to replace a working starter due to bad solenoid. Anyone have any suggestions?

I would take it to a starter rebuild shop and see what they can do with it. Often times they can find one that will work just fine for a lot less.

I would be calling my dealer looking for warranty work. that tractor cant be more than 2 yrs old.
