I’m curious of the comparison if anyone has experience with these. I only see videos on the older Fords pulling 2 bottom plows etc. What would be the similarities or differences to a mahindra 2816 or 3016. Mine is hst, industrial tires, no added weight except fel. 4x4. To a standard 8n while ploughing?

Yeah. Was wondering if the mahindra could plow as well as the Ford

I have a mahindra 2810 4x4 shuttle , i used to pull a 2 bottom plow with it a long time ago and it did fine, I quit plowing after i got a tiller, much better than plowing and disking.

Ok. What size plow did you use. Was it with industrial tires on it? Fel? I would imagine hst would work well for it. Yes, here if the ground hasn’t been turned in a long time they may plow first then till then after

Also, how big of a garden you plow?

The 600-900 series ford tractors are nearly double the HP of the N series but usualy not much more money. I would get one of them over a N series.

It would depend in part on what soil you have, and the size of the plow. Most of the older Ferguson plows had 12 or 14" bottoms; when going into a 16, I believe they only recommended a single bottom for the "N"s.
The big thing is the tire size; while the Ns were about the same weight and higher geared, they also stood taller.
I have a single bottom Ford 101 which is bigger than the Fergusons, but made for a full sized tractor. Even on my 3301 the point won't come up off the ground very far, so I have to be careful.

The 8n is under 30 hp similar to mine at 28 engine hp. So is imagine they’d perform similar. I have 4x4. I’m surprised to see the weight very similar. Figured the old Ford would have been heavier

The bigger tire size is the difference I see. I was turning new ground with my old 275, next to my strawberries and running up the rows each time. What I didn't notice was that the plow point was dragging, as it only came about 4 inches off the ground; and my strawberries were growing on hills.

I took out every one of those plants.
