I have a single bottom Ford 101 which is bigger than the Fergusons, but made for a full sized tractor. Even on my 3301 the point won't come up off the ground very far, so I have to be careful.

Move the pin connecting the INBOARD end of the TPH Top Link to a lower set of the paired holes. I think and L has two paired sets of pin holes. These paired holes also control the sensitivity of optional Draft Control if so equipped.

The plow will raise a few inches higher.

The old 2wd 8n with loaded rear r1 tires will plow considerably better than your lighter 4wd with r4 for multiple reasons. First, that tractor was literally designed around that plow. The 3-pount plow transfers most of the traction force to the rear axle, mostly negating any benefit from your 4wd. The heavier weight of the 8n, and the R1 tires, add greatly to its effectiveness relative to your cut as does its manual transmission.

Finally, the 8n had hydraulic draft control, a feature found on very few cut's. That makes maintaining even plow depth over uneven contours a piece of cake.

That said, you have one advantage of a modern diesel engine. Given the multitude of disadvantages, the 8n will still likely burn less dollars in fuel to get the same (plowing) job done. Dont use the 8n to do any pto or front loader work though. They are particularly horrible at those jobs.

Diesel tractor engine is 50% heavier than gas.
yeah , but if talking Ford tractors when they were offered in both diesel and gas in the same series like the 1965 thru mid 1970's they used the same basic block for both diesel and gas.

The Gas 2000-5000 tractor engines were overbuilt for sure.

Yeah the Mahindra looks like a different tractor on r1 tires. I assumed the 8n was quite a bit heavier, but according to tractor data their not much different in weight.

Back in the day, the Ford n 's were known for the best power to weight ratio you could get in a tractor. The "unique at the time", 3-point hitch made that possible, transfering the draft force of the plow to the rear axle and allowing the light weight tractor to do a better job on a plow than the competitions behemoths.

For many years, no tractor could plow more acres using less fuel, thanks mostly to that power weight ratio. Carrying dead weight to gain traction wastes fuel. Ford took a step backward in that respect in 1953 when they did away with the n models. The Jubilees that came out that year were heavier and burned a bit more gas per acre of plowing.

The Jubes did have live hydraulics though, which made them much better for pto work. That more than made up for the efficiency loss for most folks but not for me. I don't use my 1951 8n for any pto work and there is no modern tractor that I would rather have on a 2 x 12 plow.
