Mahindra 3510
Some time ago I read about potential fixes for 3510s running hot. Mine does too. I keep the radiator clean and full. I've not, but plan to, removed the side panels to see if doing so will help. One potential fix that seems to hold promise is moving the battery as it sits directly in front of the radiator and blocks air flow. The question I have is: where could the battery be moved to? Would appreciate whatever help you may provide. Thanks.

On both of my Kubota's not only does the battery sit in front of the radiator but so does the turbo charge air cooler, the hydraulic oil cooler and the AC condenser and none of that impacts the coolant temperature one bit.

Are you sure the radiator is clean? I have to ask how you clean it and how often?

Also check the prescreen (assuming you have one). Most tractors have them.

If running hot is a known issue on this model, check with your dealer for their suggestions.

Thanks, guys.

5030 - You bring up an interesting point. I do clean the radiator from the OUTSIDE. Mostly I use water from a hose. Last evening I removed the air cleaner, prescreens and battery. Then washed the entire radiator. I have not cleaned the INSIDE of the radiator. Normally, making certain the prescreens are clean and the radiator is hosed out will help keep it cooler.

duffer - you're right. The prescreens do catch a lot of debris. Mine weren't nearly as bad yesterday as I've seen them in the past.

What you need to do is invest in a Radiator Genie (on Amazon) and clean the rad from the fan side outward but before you do, take a spritz bottle with water and Dawn Dishwashing detergent and soak the rad down with it and let it sit for 30 minutes and then use the Radiator Genie spraying from the fan side towards the front.

When I'm out haying and chaff is an issue, I carry a Harbor Freight Bauer 20 volt blower with me and blow the rad out a couple times every day and at least once a week, my rads get the Dawn dishwashing treatment followed by the Radiator Genie.

I have a 4510. Had the same problem. Lowered the battery and added an electric fan. Did not help. Took both side panels off and it has never overheated or got warm since but I do air hose out the radiator when I get all the debris, dust and dirt in there.

Several threads about the radiators in the 2810, 3510 and 4110 Mahindras. I did the battery box drop in mine and it helped considerably but the main issue is the chaff building in the radiator fins. Initially using water to clean just makes mud in there, if you use a pressure washer you'll just close fins up and make it worse. I use compressed air first from the engine side and then back & forth front & rear, ALOT of air, not just a 2 minute blow. The screens out front do little, they catch larger stuff but the fine stuff is what's clogging the fins in the radiator. I do very little bushogging anymore so the problem doesn't occur anymore, I blow the rad. out after I've been doing alot of dusty dirt work, maybe once or twice a year anymore.
