Tractor
mahindra 3525 w/ Loader
i have just purchased a mahindra 3525 that has about 470 hrs on it, second hand. I was working with it and it had been starting and running perfectly. I decided to turn off ignition and load wood into the bucket then rest awhile. When I went to turn on the tractor nothing happened, no clicking, no turning over of the engine, no lights on the dash, nothing.... made sure that all things were in neutral. still nothing , checked all the fuses on the panel under the steering wheel. bought a new battery still nothing ... does any one have any Ideas?

Make SURE everything is in "N". PTO, F and R, EVERYTHING. I've made the mistake only to find out I was in gear...

What is this national "NO Start Month" for the Mahindra's. Sounds like you blew a fuse since you have no lights or the battery connectors are bad. If it's like the 15 series you will have at least two 50amp fuses besides the other ones. Check them because that's the only thing besides cables that I see would kill the whole tractor and lights.

Something else you might try is your emergency lights to see if they work since from what I can tell it's independent of the ignition switch, at least on my 2815.

Wayne,
Do you have a diagram for the wiring on that tractor? I just walked out to the barn to check on my 3525 and the flashers should work without key. With the key turned on all other lights should work. I agree it's probably a ground wire.......but ??
If you don't have a diagram you can download them on the net or I would email you one.

Let us know what the problem is. I am thinking of purchasing the same tractor. Do you mind sharing how much you paid for your tractor and what came with it??

Papasmith, I have a 3525 I bought through AgriCredit Auction for $9500 with 16 hrs on it. I now have 105 hours and love the tractor. I only bought the tractor, no FEL. I plan to add that later. I use it mainly for bush hogging. If you are in the market you should take a look at AgriCredits auction. They get some pretty good deals on newer tractors.

Answer to Mahindra 3525 not starting: Fuse.........
As I stated, nothing happened electrical AT ALL....no lights, meters...etc.
This tractor is pretty smart (and I am glad for that), there is a relay swith control-combination on the lower left side (about a foot below and to the left of the steering wheel) that also houses the FAN FUSE: you will notice the little fan icon.
Apparently the tractor knows you are not smart enough to check everything and knows you don't want to buy a knew engine, so it blew this fuse to protect itself from overheating.
Consequently, this fuse coupled in that relay package tells everyone else on the planet electrical to do nothing.
The fuse is big, green in color (when not blown) and 30 amps.

Replaced the fuse....and away we went.

What caused it to blow? Only one thought: I being new to tractors forgot that diesel engines are like girls and need to be warmed-up (that is an exert from my wife)....I turned the switch and boom.

Last note:
Sorry for the lengthy reply, but it is informative for new people like me...I hope, and thanks to all of you posting to help.........Sergei, you were closest to the answer.

Not warming up the tractor doesn't seem to be a reason for that particular fuse to blow. Like you stated, the fuse is to prevent the tractor from overheating too much. I would make certain that the radiator and screen in front of the radiator are clean. They can get stopped up in a hurry under certain conditions. I would also make a quick check of your entire cooling system, fluids, good flow, etc. Also possible that the fuse was just about ready to blow before you got it and not due to anything you did.

Thanks, by the way, for providing your solution.

Pappa / Dave:
I agree on checking everything relative to the fuse blowing...it may not have been trying to engage the tractor before allowing sufficient warming....I am actually getting it from the service center today.....$483.80 later, I will feel more comfortable knowing that I am starting with a 'clean' tractor.

You asked about my thoughts on the tractor and cost:
1. Thoughts - It runs well and handles as good as any. Mine is a 2-wheel drive, with front-end loader and even-though it has a locking rear differential, it would not compare to a 4-wheel drive unit.
With that said, I expected it not to be a bull-dozer and 1 extra pass on some things doesn't bother a weekender like me much at all.

2. Cost. I think I got a really good deal:
$5,000 Custom built full length trailer
Boxblade
Bushhog
Middle-buster
Tine rake
Full blade (snow blade)
Tow bar
Crop-row plow (not really even sure what this is...looks like a bowling pin setup)
3525 Mahindra, 2WD, Front-end loader....

$18,000

Hard for us to beat. It has 400 hours, and the previous owner was 'hard' on it...but it runs great and will work my 40 acre farm just fine.

Good Luck

I can't believe it. My Model 3525 did the same thing two days ago. I checked the transmission, but I did not check the PTO. Will do that when I get back to the ranch. Could have knocked the PTO back when I got into the tractor or something. The battery is at least six years old so thought it might be it, the ignition switch or ??? To be continued.

Do you still have the electrical diagram that you could email

If you run across one would you mind sending it to me as well - I will do the same for you if I can find one. I have been searching religiously for a day and a half now with no luck. I am not looking to purchase it as I am helping my cousin with the wiring on his tractor.

What sorts of manuals are there? I have a 1538 and need the engine electrical harness diagram. Oddly enough, it's not in my service manual that I do have in paper form.

I haven't actually been able to visit the page yet. I found this link from someone else and pasted it here for visibility. The site says it is being updated..

Well I won't be looking for it anytime soon. When I try the link, it's just inactive. "The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later."
Mahindra doesn't do very well with web related stuff, not even for selling new tractors.
