Mahindra 4110 Rear Brake Boot Replacement

Have loosened/removed the retaining plate around my 2008 Mahindra 4110 rear brake boot (where the brake rod goes into the rear axle), but don't know how to "break" the rod apart to get the old boot off the rod and the new one on. Anyone done this and have any advice?

The parts book shows the rod, boot, cover plate, and a turnbuckle. How much of that is visible (and accessible) with the boot loose and pried back? A photo or two of what you see might help.

Sometimes it takes my little brain a tad longer to see the light, Harry. As i was reading your post, it just dawned on me that all I should have to do is detach the front end of the brake rod from the lever, THEN unscrew the rod from the turnbuckle to get it off and remove the boot. As the new generation says, "Duh!" Will let ya know. Thanks for "flippin' the switch..."
