Looking at buying a 4110 with a loader. Will this tractor handle
round bales of hay in the 800-1000 lb range.

Thanks.

Never used mine for loading bales of hay, but the loader is rated for 1500 lbs so I don't see why not. I would definitely reccomend fluid filled tires or a ballast weight for the 3 pt.

Take a look at the 4500. It's not much more and it is a much heavier tractor. The 4110 will lift 1000 or even 1200 lb bales of hay with the tires filled. For the money the 4500 is a lot more tractor. What else will you be doing with your tractor?

It has been my experience that the loader is just too short or small to get these bales off the ground, get a rear 3pt bale spear it will work much better and keep the weight where it belongs.

I also plan on doing some dirt work, maybe running a disc
mower and rake .

While the loader rating says it can lift 1500#, that is measured at the bucket, not 2 1/2 feet in front of it. That particualr loader was not designed for those kinds of applications. Sure, the bale spear is offered as an attachment, but it is not meant for bales that big. It may handle the bales in VERY small intervals, but I would not use it to move the bales I feed my horses. Look back to an earlier post. Check out the 4500. Happy shopping! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Bales can vary in weight so much that you may overexert your hydraulics. The 4500 will do it no problem. What are your bales rolled with? Believe it or not that will make a difference. I believe I'd be looking at the 4500. In time you'll probably find you'll want to do more and more with your tractor. I started out a few years ago thinking all Id ever do was bushhog. I've gone from that and an old ford jubilee to a 6000 4x4 and rolling hay. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Go to the Mahindra web site, www.mahindrausa.com. Do a dealer search for zip code 05001. There web site address should come up.

Maybe this is the right sight, i have a Mahindar 4110,49 HP,4 wheel drive, front in loader.I was backing up yesterday and it popped out of gear, tried to put it back and feels like it was going into two gears at the same time, gears hung up.I took off the side plate and put the gears back into nutural. Now when i move forward feels like there is a broke tooth in the tranmission, the tractor jumps and jerks a little foward and reverse.
The clutch feels ok, i put it in 1st,2nd and 3rd gear the same thing Jerking like couple of teeth are broke off.I have it striped down ready to pull it out but don't know if i need to pull the tranmission with the motor, are pull the motor and then remove the transmission after.anyone know if there is a better way.It may just be the clutch i don'y know,Thanks

Welcome to the forum. That sounds serious. I think youll have to remove the engine to be able to change parts in the transmission. You are bound to get some fairly detailed replies so I would start your own thread on it. You can do this by going to Main Index, scroll down and select Mahindra Owning and Operating, then choose New Thread and itll be yours.
