Mahindra 4540 OBD ECM Not Reading

I have been trying to find out why my check engine light has been coming on for the past year and the dealer only resets it and send me on my way. I bout the OBDII Bluetooth reader ELM 327 and use the Torque Pro app with my Samsung, went through all the setting and even selected the J1939 Protocol, but it refuses to connect to the ECM. I have looked and looked and am finding nothing on this With as popular as these tractors are, is there anyone that can help?

Like John Deere, the ECM software on the Mahindra is not compatible with automotive OBDII software. The plug will fit but that's as far as the compatibility goes. The dealers are the only ones with the software to be able to read and reset codes.

The next time you take the tractor to the dealer ask specifically what the code means and what it will take to fix the problem. Be sure to tell him the code keeps returning.
