Just an update and thanks to everyone:

Loosened the inlet of the injector and pumped the primer on the fuel filter, got nothing. Pulled the inlet side of the filter and it was empty too. Blew some air into the inlet side of the filter(going to the tank) could hear the bubbles in the tank so I am guessing the pickup is not clogged. Found I do have a decent leak in the area of the filter. I found another Mahindra dealer fairly close, called them and they were very helpful. The tractor is still under warranty so they are gonna fix it for me. The tractor was out in the field but I figured that since the tractor kinda sips fuel, if I could get the inlet line to the injector full of diesel it would run for a while. So I got a turkey baster, filled it with diesel, filled the line from the filter to the injector and drove the tractor about 200 feet to the road, where it died again. So one more turkey baster of diesel to load and unload and I should be fine. So long story short, mystery solved and repairs incoming. Thanks so much guys, appreciate the advice and troubleshooting help.

If you can cut off the crimp on the flex hose where it is leaking, you could put a couple clamps [ the crimp or SS band style ] and probably fix it forever... [ at least that bad crimp :) ]

JerryK is spot on, there was a bad batch of fuel lines (hoses), they sucked air and this is the exact symptoms. I thought all dealers knew that. Your explanation is what we see exactly. Change all fuel hoses and bleed the system and she will start like new. Sometimes they would suck air before they would show signs of external leaking. To the non-diesel mechanic, this seems like a poor explanation to a non-start issue, but trust me, it is the most common reason for your issue by far.

Mahindra came out with new hoses a year or so ago, they are grey instead of black and they do not leak. But you can also do as JerryK states and just strip off the crimp and put on new hoses from your local auto parts store. Just replace them all or you will see the problem again. The only one that is tough is the one at the tank, you need to remove the back tire and lower the tank a little.

Technically you are out of warranty for fuel hoses at 4 years, but you can ask your dealer to ask Mahindra to make an exception. Customer satisfaction is important to Mahindra, and this problem is, shall I say, a known issue. That does not mean they are obligated to cover it, but they have been known to take a common sense approach to deals like this.

Thanks to everyone, that was it. Just got it back from a new dealer today, and it now has grey hoses. Only cost me 2.5 hours labor and the cost of a fuel filter, my filter also had a crack in it (now it has a metal screw in filter) I do think I am going to go ahead and replace the overflow to tank assembly too since it has a rubber hose back to the injector pump, maybe catch it before it starts leaking, and its only like $24 or so.

Again, many thanks to everyone, you guys are great!
