I can't believe a dealer tech sprayed carb cleaner into the intake.I would definitly want to make sure the heating system is working. Check resistance cross it and 12v is being delivered to it!:)

These Indian made [ old I.H. design ] motors start just fine unless it is REAL cold without the grid heaters. Just like the Cummins in my Dodge. :)

Mahindra had a problem with the fuel lines on the '35 series when they first started making them. My take on it is that the crimped ends where the flex hose was connected to the hard line ends were attached was not tight enough, or too tight that it eventually let air in. This may be your real problem. Since you said your tractor started taking longer to fire up when cranking. You can buy the new lines from Mahindra, or just buy fuel line/clamps at your local friendly auto parts store. I bought the line and clamps on Ebay in case, but never had a problem so it is just gathering dust. I think the lines are 5/16" and 3/8", and this was discussed in this forum area [ Mahindra ] several times before. But, again, may be your real problem.... sucking of the air... .. :) Dodge Cummins had a similar problem at one time on the soft lines running from the frame up to the motor. They eventually started allowing air to be sucked into the fuel system. Again, diesels don't like air in the fuel lines....

Ok I did some quick checking before heading to work and there is definitely fuel leaking near the filter canister, more of a weeping, it's not wet just moist and dust covered but when I wiped some of the crud off the line and smelled it, it was for sure diesel fuel. I will try and tighten those connections tonight when I get home and see. If the leak is in the filter area I can purge by just backing off the input line of the injector and using the primer pump on the filter housing?

Yes... BUT...!!! Once you get the fuel line full of fuel. You will have to crack a couple injector lines by the injector and go thru the cranking process. Once air is allowed into the line going into the injection pump... that pump squirts it into the injector line just like if it were fuel... That squirt of high pressure fuel usually causes the injector to open up and squirt the fuel mist into the cyl. It is just a little bit of squirt, so it would take forever for the injector pump to 'squirt out' the compressable air in the line that should be full of fuel. Once she start firing on a couple cyl's, she will sound nasty for a little, then run better. Make sure you tighten up the injector lines when you are done. I have done this lots of time, not because I wanted to. But you have to do this process every time you run out of fuel or get air in the lines. Not fun... But, in the future... you will know what to do. It also causes you to keep your tank as full as possible, watch your fuel gauge, etc. Not fun.... :)

The fittings on the hoses being loose was not the issue. It was the crimp on the fitting to the hose. I installed several hose kits. There was a field campaign to replace those hoses. Your may want to check with your dealer. Also there was a fix as fail lift pump campaign if memory serves me for the model too.

No smoke at all. I'm going to try and purge any air out of the system tomorrow and see how it goes. Thanks everyone for your input. I will report back with the status

The guy that came out actually used carb cleaner, not ether, sorry for the confusion. He looked for his ether and only found carb cleaner on his truck.
gotta keep those carbs clean.

Wow, I am glad you got some good advice here. Last time I heard "slow cranking" it meant that the battery was having trouble turning the engine over. Sounds like you just about have it under control.
