Mahindra 5145
I just purchased a Mahindra 5145. Was curious as to what kind of psi any of you are running in the front tires. I will be doing some loader work but not anything excessive. Also has anyone figured out exactly how many grease zerks this has. Every time I look at it I seem to find another one. Thx in advance.

You should not be running anything more than the stated pressure on the tire itself.
If I have the time to peer at the shop manual tomorrow at work, maybe I can find something definitive as to the number of grease points. Your manual tells you where they all are in the servicing point section.
I wanna say from memory at least 10 not counting the ones on the fel.
What will help you is to get the colored grease cap fittings in bright colors.
It will make the zerks easier to spot and protect the fitting from junk

Thanks for the responses. I do actually have some of the colored caps on order. As it stands now I think I will just go to the barn an open another beer every time I find a new zerk.
When I took delivery the front tires where at 15 psi. The stated max psi is 54. I was thinking putting them at 25 psi and calling it good.

You can easily run them at 50 especially for loader work.
15 lbs I would consider a mistake with either your pdi or gage.

I run 12 in the back and 24 in the front, (AG tires) seems about right for what I do.....

I have the industrial tires. I’ve got them at 17 in back and 24 in front. I think I’ve found most of the zerks if I’m reading the manual right looks like there are about 14 or so.
I’ve gotta say I’m impressed with this tractor. I had a Mahindra 3016 before I decided to upgrade. That was a great little tractor that did what I needed and never gave me any problems. Hopefully this one will be as issue free.

have you looked at the 3pt control column? there are some more there. there are 12 zerks just on the FEL 2 on the brakes 2 on the clutch 4 or 6 on the rear, 2 on front axel portal 2 on the front axel pivot, 2 on the steering and 1 up under that i think is the clutch pivot. I think you need to keep looking lol.

Update. So I spent a considerable amount of time under the tractor today and located 22 zerks on the tractor itself. I did not take the plastic cover off the 3pt control column but looking in it with a flashlight it looks like there is at least one there as well. They are all wearing red plastic caps now and are much easier to find but I’m sure those will fall off at some point. Not to mention the 12 zerks that are on the FEL. I’m gonna need some more grease.

Can someone confirm whether or not there should be a grease zerk on the power steering cylinder, wheel side? The diagram I have shows only one grease point on the front diff which I had to replace as it fell off, but I don't have one on the wheel side either - there's a boot there though so thinking that zerk is missing too, just checking.

I don’t have a zerk there either. It does look like it should have one. There is a hole but I can’t tell if it is threaded or not

You're most welcome.
There is the grease retainer boot there but a zerk would be right on the ball knuckle itself as you see on the opposite side.
I have to delve into this more as this is needing more sense for me.
Thanks Irish and Arrow for confirming, I agree I was a bit confused too seeing the boot there but no zerk so assumed I lost it as well - but apparently this is meant to be unserviceable. I'm a bit sensitive with the power steering as I have had a noticeable whine with it and I've already had to replace the guard - only 150 hours in. Thankfully this tractor does have one and though I think the guard is rather under-engineered, I'm sure it saved me when running on top of something.

So checking into it further at work today, that is indeed a sealed unit.
No grease needed at that joint as it is lubricated for life of the component.
Hence the boot.

You may want to consider fabricating tyour own skid plates if it is a woods tractor.
Did this to mine and it has saved my butt plenty of times.
I do log extensively with this unit however so labor well spent.

Has anyone else had any issues with their parking brake?
When it’s applied it holds ok but sometimes the led light comes on sometimes not. Same thing with the buzzer.
I know it only comes on when the tractor is in gear but it is also hit and miss. Not a big issue but kind of annoying.
