Mahindra 6500 Intake Manifold Heater

Yep it's exactly the same bought one brand new $90. You heard it here folks don't go to the stealership and pay $300. The part numbers and everything aready identical.

I thought about pulling mine off my truck since it never gets used. Read on a diesel site it one comes on in subzero temps. All the diesel guys pull em and cap it or run a boost gauge off the bung to reduce turbulence in the intake.

All our fleet at work is ford so I had the mechanics go pull one off the shelf and even though it's in a motorcaft box it's a beru part. Even the glow plugs for a f250 are beru parts.

Even if the engine has glow plugs, an intake manifold heater grid or a fuel burning thermostart. The engine still needs a coolant heater .
A synthetic motor oil such as Shell Rotella T6 to crank easier and lubricate sooner .
Just because you can manage to hammer a diesel into a clattering smoke spewing wheezing state of life with "glow plugs". It doesn't mean that you should .

I don't think TXMIKE is doing that...he lives in TX...doesn't get below "0"F there very often...also, my 7.3 came with the "coolant heater" plug in at the bottom of the grill/radiator...who knows...TXMIKE might have it as well...I'm just glad he found a cheaper fix to his problem...now I'm wondering if the same heater fits the 6000 engines...BobG in VA

Until the heater broke it never smoked or clattered the least bit. Heck on my f250 it's never even knocked when the glow plug relay wasn't working and both only had a puff of smoke on startup and knocked a little until they warmed up which wasn't very long. I think your in a much cooler climate. I'm sure synthetic oil wouldn't hurt anything though.

Yea the Ford heater was exactly the same. If you got a heater relay and timer I need one of those though.

Ill check but this was a tractor that got caught in one of the big fires around here. Most everything with wires got toasted. I will check for you though. also with the puff of smoke if its still happening the fuel tank can clog at the outlet.. you can pull the shut off valve out and unstop the port and also check your return lines.

Yea if it was in a fire it's probably gone.
It looks like this

I'm not sure if this is the timer and relay or what. When I turn the key on the blue wire has 12v but it says powered on so I'm guessing the timer has to be inside the box. The dealer says there's an actual plug in replaceable timer but I don't know where it would be.

Right that's bolted on the frame that the side panels pin too I believe. The timer relay sits on the left side of the block were the fuse panel and starter relay also sits. believe they are usually blue

if your getttin 12vs to that is it leaving it? or coming on at all? or are you saying the power never stops going to the plugs? sorry I jumped in half way through the thread
