Mahindra claims 40% of the US 30-55hp Market

I'm not sure how good these figures are ... they're claiming 40% of the 30-55hp market in the US ...

1,600 tractors (their claim) does not constitute 40% of the US 30-55HP market. It's more like 0.0071% (by my rough estimates).

Using Mahindra's numbers of 1600 sold, 40% market share=4000 Total tractors (30-55hp group)

Using Muhammad's number of .0071 market share=225,352 Total tractors (30-55hp group)

Using EMI's numbers of 49,833 Total tractors (40-100hp group)

Interpolating incomplete numbers {that's a trick!}... maybe ~22,352 U.S.-Total tractors sold in the 30-55hp group...?

The best year on record for the U.S. was 1973 for a Grand Total of 196,994 tractors sold {all groups} (reported by former "FIEI"-EMI...

Maybe they were refering to the other imports, in which 40% of all imported tractors are theirs? I don't know the figures but that is the closest I can of.

I'll tell you - that graph on the link you gave certainly shows that the best time to haggle for a tractor must be in January or February!

I believe those numbers are Worldwide sales...not just USA...

For the U.S- {All Manufacturers} Total tractor sales under 40hp
... EMI shows for 2001 is 85,189 units, and for 2000 is 78,218 units...
