Just out of curiosity, and I'm not picking on you or the brand, but why would you (or anyone) consider buying a tractor that there was no local support for? And further, why would you (or anyone) consider buying an expensive piece of equipment that he didn't have a dealer for so therefore had not been able to see/sit on/feel/test the machine?

I've always thought this was curious. I see it in a lot of threads for many brands. People put a brand on their "short list" based on some criteria (I presume it to be advertising?) but then they have a difficult time actually seeing the brand, buying the brand, and servicing the brand but it still remains on the list of brands they are considering.

Bob, I have test drove the B7800 Kubota and my next door neighbor has a 3720 Deere tractor as well. With this being a major purchase I want to get the best for my money. I have talked to a few people who own mahindra tractors, and I haven't heard any bad comments as of yet. My brother in law in colorado has a mahindra and he got a great deal. My issue is local service, no one within 50 miles of my house at the current time. So the point of the posting was to find a local dealer, that someone else on here might have experience with in the 75 mile range of my house. 20176 zip code... Like I said the Kubota guys are 3 miles down the road, and they are a great dealership, 9/5 oncall direct to your front door. Just checking out my options.

Neighbor Firefighter6CO6,

I'm one of the fools who drives from 26808, right through the middle of 20176, to 20151 on my way to work each morning. It's 68 miles. We have a great Mahindra dealer just beyond us, in Augusta, WV -- Zip Code 26704. When I hit the Greenway at Route 7/Route 15, I'm about 50 miles into my trip. I think they would be within your 75 mile radius.

I can't say enough good things about them. Before I bought my Mahindra from them, I'd bought a number of implements from them over the years, plus parts and supplies. Great people. Great tractor. So far, my tractor has been perfect (about 60 hours now). All I've needed is supplies for my 50 hour service, and a can of touch up spray paint. They had everything in stock when I went needed it.

D&G Equipment. 1-800-681-5670. www.DandGEquipment.com. Last time I was over there, they had about 20-25 Mahindras on the lot. They also sell other brands, and they have lots of new and used implements.

Good luck,
Knute

Before I bought my Mahindra, I checked out the orange, the blue, the green, the other red (MF) and finally decided on Mahindra. I have no regrets. I had to travel 60 miles to the nearest dealer to get it. Now, there is a dealer 28 miles away. I just don't think you can go wrong with a Mahindra. Add this to your other indorsements, it will help you when the final decision is made. Good luck to you.

Here is what the mahindra website says:

Nearest dealer to Zip Code 20176

Dealer D & G Equipment Sales, Inc. http://www.dandgequipment.com
Address HC 52 Box 1768, Dunmore Ridge
Augusta WV 26704
Tel 304-496-8685
Fax 304-496-9402
Email dges4@hotmail.com
Distance Approx. 57 Miles

Like a previous poster I drive over that each way to work every day. I would feel comfortable with purchasing a tractor in that range. Just make sure you have the transportation details worked out if any warranty work is to be done. My mahindra dealer transports my 6500 for free for warranty work. Some don't.

Firefighter
IMO, After reading your first post, Thats exactly what I thought you asked.
Since that was YOUR FIRST post on T B N , let me welcome you,
Also, this Mahindra Forum is unique in that you have Mahindra Dealers and Mahindra USA (management) visiting online willing to help you.
Since I live in NY, can't help much with VA, but I can tell you I own a Mahindra 4110 , and if I had to do it over again I would make the same choice. The Mahindra Dealer has always treated me right on the rare ocasions I do need him. Plus you have a relative who it sounds like already gave you his opinion of Mahindra ??????????????? (I try not to ASSUME things, thats why the question marks :D )

Good luck with your tractor shopping and no matter what brand you choose hope you come back to T B N

The guy is trying to locate a dealer that he considers to be fairly local from his perspective.

In regards to choosing a tractor, I think my search was pretty typical. First, I decided what my power and usage requirements were going to be. I then researched to find what each brand had to offer. I then located dealers and made calls to check on local pricing, while also researching the pros and cons of each model I had found. I then compiled a short list, and visited dealerships and checked out the tractors on my short list.

Among my finalists were the NH TC40A, Kubota 3830 GST, and the Mahindra 4110.

Proximity is nice, but only with a willing dealer. I called the closest dealer, a Kubota dealer 15 minutes from my house, and asked for pricing on a 3830. They rambled on the phone, but never gave me a price. I dropped the dealership from consideration.
