While looking at the specifications for the various sized tractors for Mahindra, I noticed that the 4500, 5500, and 6000 all had the same hydraulic pump output of 11 gal/min.

This seems very small if you were hoping to do loader work or work requiring some hydraulic output.

Have any of you encountered some slowness in the loader functions? Can you add another pump and run it off of the pto to get more hydraulic output?

Your input is appreciated.

11 Gal/min is a good flow, should run anything you desire.

With 11 gpm the only thing you might have problems with would be large hydraulic motors. It is more than enough for a loader, backhoe, logsplitter, or other cylinder work.

I have a new 4110 Mahidra with the Bradco 511 attached hoe. Only thing I wished the 4110 models had the 11 GPM pump instead of 7. The 7 does anything I want it to do, with an 11 instead of 7, it would do it a heck of a lot faster

Anything over 9 gpm will give you respectable loader flow on a utility sized tractor.

That's great output in reference to what they used to be... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

My Massey 135 pump was only ~about 4.1 gpm, and that was it...!

You can always supplement the flow with a Prince PTO driven pump ~ 12 gpm... with the backhoe...

I have a Mahindra 6000 4wd with Mahindra loader made for Mahindra by Great Ben. 11 gpm runs the loader just fine. I am in the process of purchasing a 511 backhoe made by Bradco, just like lamarbur. I anticipate it will run the backhoe just fine. PTO kits are in production and can be added for more $. Although, my hope is that it is not needed. Big advantage to pto is seperate system and reduced chance of contamination.

Yooperdave, I just welded chain hooks on the loader bucket of my new 4500 and went out and wrapped a chain around a round bale to put out for the horses. I was delighted with the speed and power of the lift, it snatched that round bale up like you or I would snatch up a loaf of bread!!

I have a 2007 Mahindra 6500 4WD with FEL. It has 4 hydraulic connectors in the rear. I am trying to make my log splitter work on it, it is a homemade vertical hydraulic splitter with a regular hydraulic log splitter valve. It has been working fine on my 1973 IH 464. However, when I plug it into the Mahindra, I can't get it to work. One problem is the Mahindra valve won't stay open to allow flow to the splitter, and when I hold it in place the relief valves trips. I see a plug in a port on the back of the Mahindra hydraulic valve assembly, I wonder if that would help me get flow to the splitter without tripping the relief valve. Can anyone offer any insight on this? Thanks, Doug
