Has anyone actually found a MAX 22 or Max 25 series Mahindra yet? I think the dealers are sick of people asking because they aren't even returning inquiry calls it seems.

With a new model like the Max, as much hype as the intro got, I'm sure it will be a while before most dealers get one on their lots. I've seen it several times over the past few years; you can go back in any of the brands and find similar posts about the JD 1 series, the Mahindra 16 series, the MF 1526, etc., etc.

From what I've seen, the max 22 and 25 are the same as an 1816. Sure, they are rated for more horsepower and have different headlight housings. You should be able to get the same feeling by sitting in the seat of the 1816 (you won't be able to see the headlights or decals on the hood).

Dealers have pricing on them, so they can give you a price and they should. I've been quoting them, but we do not have the 22/25 yet in stock. Max 28xl's have been shipping to dealers. I only know about the west coast, and it looks like March 30 we are scheduled to receive a bunch of containers of both Max 22 and 25 from Mitsubishi. Loaders, mowers and backhoes, as well as tires, are here and ready to go. So much to the frustration of some dealers and their customers, we are still a few weeks out. I suspect Texas and Tennessee distribution centers might be a little ahead of us, so perhaps a little earlier from these centers, but that is only a guess.

They are not the same as the 1816, I looked at one and there are some attachments that will not fit and the maxx ergonomics are a bit more friendly as well. The layout for me makes a difference since I have to put hand controls on since I am a cripple and the feet don't work.

I made a few inquires to Mahindra dealers and never had any response. This could be for multiple reasons, not the least of which is the availability of these new machines. Even so, I think its really poor business practice to advertise contact info, and not to respond. It makes my selection easier though!

They effed up if you ask me. Why say they will be in the showrooms when they won't? It makes me not even want to deal with them if they can't even get a delivery date right by a month. Love the tractor, but am not impressed with the company thus far.

If they are as good as the 2615 I had and the 3616 I got they may be worth the wait. Kootch88 you are not crippled, challenged maybe but when you can drive a tractor, even with hand controls your doing alright. My feet dont work and I have to wear braces up to my knees but I get the job done. good luck

No doubt.
I'm 0 for 4 on dealers giving me *any* response (let alone price estimates). That's a clear message to me they don't want my business.
The machine specs out real nice, but all I've had to look at is the pictures on Mahindra's website- the loader controls look clunky/exposed, and the other controls don't look particularly great. I'm not sold on metal fenders being a selling point either- plastic/fiber was just fine on my 4310, and its much more resilient (if properly designed).

I bet they are listening, so I appreciate your comments. I think the issue is that the Marketing people are by nature Pollyanna's. :D "Best case scenario, let's get these hyped and get them sold."

Now the realistic pragmatic folks, they work in production. They know that new models are never, ever, ever, on time. There is a lot of coordination getting in the tire and wheel sets, new loaders, new backhoes, new mowers, new battery sizes perhaps, new seats, etc., etc.

I can just almost see the exchange like I was at the meeting, which I wasn't. A MUSA muckety-muck will ask around the table, so to speak, each department head and/or supplier when each item will be finished with testing and in production and ready to ship. He will ask with a very expectant and positive tone, and the expectation will cause the particular department head to give the very best date. Then as these things all come together, something slips due to testing, or a shortage of some dohickey or something. Any little supply glitch in a new model for which the pipeline is not full causes a slowdown.

We need our optimistic marketing folks, and our practical production folks, but when a new models arrives, I wish they awere all on the same page. :ashamed:

Bear with us please.

Cripple is a perfectly legitimate adjective, same as blind or retarded. Doesn't mean you can't do something, just a description of a physical fact. This PC crud is making basic speech problematic.

I am not sure what I am going to do at this point. I think I am going orange though.

Take no offense, crippled, broken, fallen apart, anyway you put when we get on the tractor it dont matter. My feet and part of my legs are paralyzed and call it what you want cause its all good. I would start looking for a dealer that wanted my business orange is a good start. Good luck

Perhaps, but many people prefer to use the word disabled, because crippled generally has derogatory connotations. Now if someone who is disabled chooses to refer to themselves as being crippled, that is their choice to make.

It's simply a matter of showing the proper respect, but without patronizing someone.

I don't need obscure respect like that. Call me a cripple.

I finally heard from a Mahindra dealer in N.H. that was willing to talk price. Can't wait to follow up with him tomorrow. I hope we can work something out.

What's with the attitude?

I see nothing wrong with showing people respect. Believe me, I am anything but obscure, especially if I have a problem with someone, disabled or otherwise. I once had a paraplegic friend who's back was broken when a piece of slate fell on him in the mines. He was a great guy, but if he was being a jerk, I said so.

Anyway, with regard to the Mahindra Max fiasco, I think they really screwed the pooch on this one, which will likely cost them some sales as a direct result. Not to mention the damage to customer confidence in the brand. For example: If they can't get a new model out on time, how will they handle parts distribution and availability?

They may lose a few sales from those unwilling to wait, but I think customer confidence in the brand will not suffer from a 4-6 week delay in arrival.

It's easy enough to search the board and find similar threads about the Deere rollout of the 1000 series and Kubota with the 3300SU. Dave nailed it earlier with his marketing vs. production comment which is universal among manufacturers.
