Manufacturers loader lift numbers don’t really tell the whole story. The higher a loader lifts, the less capacity it has at full height. The geometry of the loader lift cylinders dictates how high it will lift and how strong it is when it’s at ground level. Lower lift heights usually mean more breakout capacity. If you need the height to to stack bales or something, then get the one with the highest lift, if not the lower lift loader will probably lift more weight during normal use. I bet both loaders use the same diameter cylinders,o one isn’t really stronger than the other. Manufacturers just play up the attributes with the highest numbers.

Of course just because the loader is strong enough to lift something doesn't mean that you can or should. The loader on the Max 26 XLT is rated to lift about 75% of the tractor's weight. You might manage to get that off the ground if sitting level and well ballasted, but moving it anywhere could cause excessive seat suction.
Both of those tractors are very capable for their size. I don't think the OP would find either lacking.
