Mahindra: Nothing but problems

Welcome to TBN--join the fun:thumbsup:

So, you bought a red tractor, got it home and now have realized that it has "unacceptable fit and finish". Question: why did you buy it in the first place? Didn't you notice that glaring deficiency when you did your due diligence at the dealer's place before you bought the thing? Get the problems fixed under warranty and then dump it to achieve closure and regain peace of mind. Hope you do better job evaluating your replacement whatever color it turns out to be.

Good luck

Life is too short...

If the tractor leaves a bad taste, maybe the simple solution is to cut your losses.

I live in the SF Bay Area and Rush and many others I hear about have not been on radio for sometime in my market.
Too bad, that place could stand another point of view.

I stand corrected... they are no longer on their flagship station and the station and their new station is one I have problems receiving.

I still think his original dealer had a lot to do with his problems. Hydraulic hose routing like that sounds like a dealer assembly. Lack of grommets on wires passing through compartments does not sound like a factory Mahindra build. I don't own a Mahindra but I would not blanket the brand because a dealer did not do his job. All brands have an occasional bad dealer.

Work the details out and you will have a good tractor.

Tom,
I went over my tractor with a fine tooth comb when it was delivered to the dealer and before it was delivered (I had them deliver it as it was free) to me. I gave a list of "squawks" to the dealer and went over them with their mechanic showing him what I found. No problems when I got it home.

The hose problem should have been worked out by KMW or whoever made and installed the loader which is usually the loader mfg. A pre-purchase inspection would have caught that. I have had power steering lines leak. Stuff happens. Mahindra's vendor that makes that line could have had it sitting on the shelf forever. Even airlines have parts that are bad off the shelf or fail prematurely, even with date stamps.

Installers putting on grommets can get interrupted and have to go to the bosses office, and overlooks a little grommet because a non tech person came by while the installer was gone and closed the hood or panel while showing his buddy how much he knows about "technical" stuff. I can go on and on what all can happen during a work interruption.

He gave up on the dealer because they didn't have his oil filter when he needed it. He never stopped to think the customer that passed him at the door could have bought their last filter for that model.
Stuff happens. Lack of communication was the problem. Just talk with the dealer!!!!
hugs, Brandi

He gave up on the dealer because they didn't have his oil filter when he needed it.

If you read his posts you will see that not only did they not have a filter, they did not have a fuse and they did not have a service manual.

I cannot fathom a dealer not having a service manual and having such a dealer work on his items could make the whole thing go from bad to worse. We don't know that the dealer did not have a factory pre-deliver recall to the wiring that they had to do and did not know to install grommets. We don't know that the dealer didn't have to take the hoses off and reinstall them and mess them up then. Stuff like that happens with a dealer that unwittingly jumps into the business without stocking parts or manuals. It was the guy's first post and people jumped down his throat.

I am quite sure this guy will never find a dealer as perfect as he is.

I think the OP started off on the wrong foot, but he was not asking for help as much as he was looking for a chance to blow off steam. If the problems are real, Mahindra does need to fix them, and hopefully ODT can help out. I won't defend the OP's lack of diplomacy, but wouldn't defend Mahindra either.

But I am sure you would Kubota

And.... who has said Mahindra has not?
All we have is a OP who is pissed off and does not show that he has done any due diligence in resolving the issue with his dealer

I am happy to see Old Dominion Tractor has stepped up to the plate, all manufacturers need dealers like that one!

come on guys we all know that no matter what color there are some bad dealers out there

I have a JD dealers about 8 miles from me but bought my tractor 35 miles away from me in the other direction
Why??? Service Service Service

When I had my bota there was a dealer 3 miles from where I work
tried to talk to them numerous times with no one there who I felt knew anything about there product
Would go about 40 miles and there would get the service manager to talk to me every time I had questions and if he didn't know he was right on the phone finding the answers

this guy just got mixed up with the wrong dealer and now he has a bad taste in his mouth
