mahindra or kubota

( If the mahindra is 5700lbs and the kubota is around 3500lbs wouldnt the mahindra out work the kubota as far as FEL and Box blade work or is the Weight difference not that big of a deal? )

I have a Kubota L4330 HSTC. I don't know what it weighed before the dealer added:wheel weights, tooth bar, or rim-guard. I do know that with those options and my Woods medium duty box blade it weighs in at 7,300 lbs. In my opinion that is plenty of weight for a tractor of it's horse power.

I would go with a proven Japanese tractor over the Mahindra. If you thinking about a Korean Kioti(the old kubota designs) there would be more to consider. The Kubota machines are really well built and the support will be there. However, reasearch your dealer carefully because a good dealer makes all the difference.
My 2cents,
Bob

is that correct?

Perhaps when they first came to the U.S., but I think they now design and make their own tractor completely.

"I would go with a proven Japanese tractor over the Mahindra." Hmmmm, the last time I check my 2015 MAHINDRA was build by Japenese (Mitshubushi) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

im not positive about this but i think mahindra has been around longer than kubota. i am positive you can get more tractor for your money with mahindra,, atleast in texas anyway. i wanted a kubota, have a kubota dealer 3 miles from my house, this dealer was much better than the mahindra dealer 30 miles away, but the tractor itself, standars features, and extra impliments gave me no choice. i was looking at the kubota M4800 vs mahindra 4500. i went with mahindra.

Let me pose 2 questons for you to answer: #1 - which tractor is more comfortable for you? and #2 - which dealer strikes you as the better dealer for you?

If you buy from a lousy dealer, even the best tractor may run into grief some day and a lousy dealer is going to be your worst nightmare. Now if there are multiple dealers for that brand then you may minimize that concern.

If you buy a tractor you simply are not comfortable with, you will regret it for a very long time.

My take is that both are quality machines, you likely won't go wrong with either one. Pick the one that overall feels better for you. Make sure, in any case, you properly match the machine up to the tasks you are doing so it is the correct fit for the jobs.

Let's see, Kubota Corporation was formed in Osaka Japan in 1890 for their ag business. Mahindra & Mahindra formed after India's independence in 1947, but did not produce their first tractor (the B-275) until 1962. Not that it really matters, but that's not close. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

As far as being in Texas, or the U.S., Kubota tractors were first introduced into the U.S. in 1969. Mahindra imported their first tractor to the U.S. in 1994. Again, not that it really matters, but that's not close either. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Please explain how you "are positive" that you can get more tractor for your money with Mahindra. Quantitative data showed that your thought about Mahindra being around longer than Kubota, and Kubota being in the U.S. longer was incorrect. I'm sort of curious about your third assertion here.

actually i didnt say they were in the u.s. a long time but that they had been in buisness along time, more than long enough to be a proven company. im not cutting kubota, but the reason im positive you get more for your money is because that is what i found when i was buying, believe me i wanted to buy from the kubota dealer close to my house. i knew mahindra had been around since ww2 so i guess i assumed kubota hadnt.

to be a little more spacific the 4500 had a much heavier 3pt hitch and FEL. it also came standard with wheel weights and a set of remote valves, the m4800 didnt have either. the price was better to, even with impliments and a trailer.like i said i had no choice.
