LAWALLSTRACTOR said:Dougster Any Mahindra dealer can order parts for you and have them drop shipped to your address. I'm sure myself or any other Mahindra dealer would be glad to sell you filters. Due to the cost of shipping ordering a stock of filters for your tractor rather than 1 or 2 at a time would be cost adventagous. Your dealer could do this with just a phone call or I would be glad to help you if you would like.
That's nonsense. Unless Mahindra frequently changes their part numbers, the customer should not be required to verify its the same number every time he re-orders the same filter.RedRiver said:Ordering through a dealer assures you that you are getting the correct part for your tractor and minimizes any hassle with their shipping dept. and the customer with returning parts.
The customer will obviously go back to his dealer if he needs something unusual. But the present procedure forces him to go back needlesly. It also helps your local dealer stay in business so he can be there to support you with any issues that may arise.

Many products are sold through an exclusive-dealer model but not all tractors follow this model, and Mahindra's insistence on this may weaken their appeal as a brand.

I don't need someone to make money by logging onto the computer and turning it around for me to pick the part I want. I can do all that. I fully understand that dealers want/need to sell parts. However I as a customer want to buy a part from home when it's convenient for me. Atleast give me the option of having the diagrams to get the part number myself so I don't have to drive an hour to look on his computer. Then I could call and get the part ordered through him without all the BS.
It's a definite step in the right direction!rback33 said:You can order parts online from NewEnglandtractors website. It is not perfect, as it is under construction still, but it does seem to work.
This is perfectly fine with me provided that you could specify the dealer you wished to have service your order.rback33 said:What I think would be great is if Mahindra could set up the system so that you could order online and it was tied into their dealers so that the dealers were servicing the purchase.
One would hope that such a system would be flexible & user-friendly enough to permit dealer sales, discounts, etc. (if any) to be programed in.rback33 said:The problem with this would be that retail parts price would have to be the same for all dealers. Maybe this is OK for people doing online orders?
