Mahindra parts online?

How many times have you turned the computer around and asked the customer to show you the part he wants on the exploded diagram? I don't need someone to make money by logging onto the computer and turning it around for me to pick the part I want. I can do all that. I fully understand that dealers want/need to sell parts. However I as a customer want to buy a part from home when it's convenient for me. Atleast give me the option of having the diagrams to get the part number myself so I don't have to drive an hour to look on his computer. Then I could call and get the part ordered through him without all the BS.

Not sure which filter your looking for, but a couple years ago I needed an oil filter for my 4005DI, and the dealer said the FL-1A was the same, and over the counter at the parts store. I bought one, MotorCraft, and sure enough looked and fit the same. Now that I have upgraded to a 6000, I'm using the "Mahindra Filter", warranty issue, until the warranty runs out, then I'll use the FL-1A. I've already compaired them and they are the same.

We regularly fax/email customers parts diagrams to make sure that we are getting them the correct part.

OK.. I'll bite and throw in my $.02.

1) You can order parts online from NewEnglandtractors website. It is not perfect, as it is under construction still, but it does seem to work.

2) It comes down to logistics. If you want to order parts direct from Mahindra then you should expect to pay the same prices as you do from the dealer, if not higher. They would have to add people and materials to their parts department to handle the onesy and twosey orders that they would get all day everyday. It would not stop there. Then THAT would be too much hassle...and you would want to buy loader parts direct from KMW since they build loaders. I cannot sell them to anyone but Mahindra, but imagine the 50 or 100 orders I could get everyday. And the do come to ME. I have basically one guy that handles UPS shipping as PART of his job. I ship large stocking orders to Mahindra. They ship stocking order to the dealers, who reach across the counter and hand it to you. The dealers are not there just to be a face to buy from. They are there to service you as well as your equipment. Now I am not saying that Mahindra does not care about servicing their customers. That is very important to them. However, it is not feasible for me or them to service ALL of the individuals who have purchased a product manufactured by us. Sure, I have talked to MANY of the dealers direct to help solve problems and answer questions and probably 1/4 as many customers themselves. The difference is that they started at the "bottom" (dealer) and worked the question up the hill until someone (be it Mahindra or me) was able to answer it. What I think would be great is if Mahindra could set up the system so that you could order online and it was tied into their dealers so that the dealers were servicing the purchase. The problem with this would be that retail parts price would have to be the same for all dealers. Maybe this is OK for people doing online orders?

It's a definite step in the right direction! I look forward to using it once it is complete for my 10-series tractor.

What I think would be great is if Mahindra could set up the system so that you could order online and it was tied into their dealers so that the dealers were servicing the purchase.

This is perfectly fine with me provided that you could specify the dealer you wished to have service your order.

The problem with this would be that retail parts price would have to be the same for all dealers. Maybe this is OK for people doing online orders?

One would hope that such a system would be flexible & user-friendly enough to permit dealer sales, discounts, etc. (if any) to be programed in.

Now I'll just bet that there are a lot of dealers out there who are ordering very few parts. I mean think about it. The average dealer here sells 50 -75 tractors a year. Mahindra has only been in my area for 3-4 years. So my dealer only has 300 tractors he sold out there. How many parts could he be ordering? So does that mean that since he isn't ordering 10 parts every day he should pay more? It's up to Mahindra, the internet is growing everyday and more and more people are buying what they need from it, they can get in on this growing market or they can let it go right by.

I am really not apposed to ordering parts from the dealer. But it would be great to call the dealer and say I need part number XXXXX for my 3505.
What I don't like is not having a parts book at my shop. Or a repair manual for that matter. I think Mahidra is way too secretive on there parts. I did manage to buy a parts manual on ebay for my tractor.TB
