I am not sure where you are getting this info from but Mahindra has 3 or 4 new Mitsubishi's tractors comming out in the begining of the new year.

To reply to wallace, I heard about the Mitsubishi change from a Mahindra dealer so it is second-hand info. However, they seemed to be in the know. I'm not saying it will necessarily be a bad thing...just something new.

By the way, has anyone seen one of these Montana tractors? A local guy started selling them, but I can't find much info on them other than they're made in Korea and have a logo that looks like the green version of the Mahindra logo.

I own a Mahindra 2615. I have a JD 750 at work. The quality, fit, features, etc of the Mahindra are far better than the JD. Now at the time I bought my 2615 for just under $15k with MMM and FEL. For the same price I could have only got'n a JD 4010 of a Kubota 7510. If I would have ask the much smaller and lighter tractors to do the work I have done with my 2615, the others would have far more hours on them. Heck, there most of the trees my 2615 has pushed over would still be standing with the lighter tractor.

If you wish to own a Kubota, thats great, how it works for a long time for you. I have made a different chose, it is working for me.

The Montana CUTs are pretty much the same tractor as the Farmtrac CUTS. The 40 hp version is a lot smaller than my 4110, but they are priced about the same ($400 difference).

There is no question that the Kubota, John Deere and New Holland used machines that are two or three years old have a higher value than do the Mahindras. One obvious reason is that those two and three year old machines are priced higher than a new Mahindra of similar HP.

Well, here's my two cents. I recently had some work done around my home and one of the carpenters had worked at a local Kabota plant. He was looking at my tractor and without any conversation really toward tractors, remarked how heavy gauged the metal was. He was referring to the hand controls when he made the statement. Not meaning to ruffle any Kabota feathers here, just quoting the remarks. But anyway, while I'm ruffling feathers /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif, my New Holland/Mahindra dealer (which has been a New Holland/Ford dealer for as long as I can remember and I'm talking decades) tell me their having more problems with their New Hollands nowadays and having very little problems with their Mahindra line. To clarify that a bit further (and not appear so Mahindra biased), a tractor mechanic friend (predominantly New Holland) tells me the New Hollands aren't what they used to be. Danny

This is a funny thread. I dont know alot about tractors but I do know about used vehicles and the used market doesnt always reflect the best product by a long shot.

Even in the car market, a used Geo Prism would get a lot less than the same year and mileage Corolla and they are the EXACT same vehicle.

I hope to find a deal that has a practically new tractor going for a little over 50% sticker. Please notify me next time you see this.

If I owned an equipment rental lot then maybe I would care about resale value. OTOH, I need to get a tractor to help me develop/manage 12 acres of raw ground that I just bought.

in my opinion the low resale is just because there aren't a lot of them on the used market, the company is just now starting to hit a big boom and become a lot popular. earlier this year our dealership was unable to get 2 diff. models for a little while because they couldn't build them fast enough to keep up with demands.

I have been offered only 13k by dealer for my 2013 5010 gear with ag tires only 200hrs, bought for 22k.

never sell to a dealer. He needs to make a markup profit too. Sell privately and you get the markup he would be getting.
