Mahindra starter wiring [helP]!!

ok long story short starter has 5 wires going to it i know the main 3 but i dunno where the other 2 go.

long story;
so my dad is 60 and he wanted a tractor so he went and bought a mahindra2615 hst. he lets it sit for months at a time, and has to jump it off a lot. the last time it wouldnt start up, "im and automotive mechanic" i told him to go buy a battery and change it out, the original was 5years old been dead atleast 6 times, time for a new battery. so ignores me, pulls the starter off the tractor and has it tested, they tell him to go buy a new battery too. so he gets the battery now and doesnt know how to re wire the starter so he calls me, any car has 3 wires coming off the starter solenoid
one to the starter motor
one from the battery
one from the inition switch via starter relay
what are the other 2 for he said they were connected but doesnt remember witch terminals they were on.

if someone could just take a picture of there starter solenoid that would be awesome. our mahindra dealer shut down so theres none i can go look at thanks guys.

Sorry just went out and looked but my 3016 only has 3 wires. Going to go out on a limb though and say you have your activation wire, starter wire, and power wire. Those three should be easy enough to identify and unless you have a ground wire from the block the other two should go to battery terminal. Because I can't think of why you would want power only when your starter is engaged.

thats what i was thinking too. i know one of them goes to the power terminal, i looked again and it powers the ignition, the other turns on a solenoid on the other side of the block (connected to the injector block) when its connected to power so im just not sure about that one. i just dont wanna burn anything up.

Good luck if you are trying to find the 26 series wiring diagram. I wish Mahindra's website was a good as the tractors. I have been to the John Deere site, and it is vastly superior to Mahindra.

Larry, the drop down list for wiring diagrams does not contain the 15 series. You can see the operators manual, but there isn't a diagram - unless I overlooked it.

And, the green tractor site is mucho better.

I not sure if this will help or not, the circuit diagram I have for my 2815 only shows 4 wires to starter, not sure why they would have 5 wires.Unless it was for a add on device and they just got power from the starter location.

That fifth wire may be to "Pull" the fuel solenoid on. Try hooking it to the starter activation post see if it starts and stays running when you let off on the key.

I maybe wrong but it seems to me that both tractors are using the same engine and I'd think that the starter system would be the same or real close.

To help can you look at the wires and tell me what color combination's each wire has. Maybe through elimination and my manual we can figure out where
they all go.

This is just a note to say that the pics posted by mboulais do indeed show the 5 wires on the Mahindra 15 and 16 series tractors. I have a 2816 with a starter that is identical to the pics posted. You can't easily see the black wire from the starter to the inner terminal of the solenoid or the main battery lead under the rubber boot to the outer terminal. So, the outer terminal has the main lead from the batter and a black wire. The inner terminal has the black wire to the starter and the red wire. Then the wire with the spade connector is in the middle. Hope this helps anyone checking this thread with starter problems. My starter went out with only 170 hrs on the meter.
