Buying Advice mahindra4530 or kubota L4400

Noticed that. But what is the same in kubota? I told the salesman 40hp range,4wd with loader and he said L4400. I have woods clearing, pasture upkeep and help with 80 acres hunting land. Not sure what to do?

I don't think you will come up with a exact comparison. You would have to go to a 50 - 60 HP Kubota to come up with that heavy a tractor. The 4530 Mahindra will have more brute force and lifting capacities, for clearing trees, but the Kubota will be smaller and more agile for getting arround the woods.

Thanks TBN and everyone who offered advice and or opinions.I have made my choice. Thanks bigbull338, I went with what felt right to me. Went back to both dealers today and drove both around, moved every selector, every gear, 4wd/2wd got up close with both machines. What I found is the kubota is assembled better.tighter steering, better built controls, and I know this will piss off mah. guys but the parking lever could be bought at a local parts store(aftermarket choke cable)sorry....however,4530 is a very strong machine for what it is but don't think long term quality is there. I did not get the L4400 instead I found a closer match to the 4530,the mx4700 4wd/fel.It is still a bit smaller but I think will come in handy with my closer to home tasks and was only 1500$ more. my search now is ag or r4 tires:confused2: ???? also dex3361,I looked into hst but felt this go round i'd better stick to what I know. Can't wait to get ahold to those pines !!!!!! thanks, blueride190

If I were to buy new today it would be the MX4700 or the MX5100 in HST so I think you have picked a winner you will have a great deal of fun working with this new tool.

Yeah, congrats! I considered the MX4700/MX5100 when I was shoppin', but in the end I could not deny my inner "loves bells & whistles" self.

Congratulations on your new tractor; very good choice.

Congrats! That is the same tractor I am planning on purchasing just with HST. I don't think you will regret it.

I bought the MX5100DT with FEL & HD bucket with AG tires. I have some fields, and some brushy areas that can get a little tight. In the end, I needed something that I could manuever in those tight places. There are a lot of good tractors out there, and Kubota is one of them. I think you'll be happy. If you haven't thought of it, get the quick detach set-up, and maybe a grill guard (handy in brush).

ive got R4 tires on my MX5100 because thats what came on it.an it makes the tractor a tad more stable as they are wider tires.every1 i talk to says the R4s will hold up better shredding in thorns,an so far they are right.
