Mahuindra cab tractor 2555 vs 5010 etc

Actually the NX series Kiotis are very comparable to the 35 series Mahindra, or the new 3500 series. I have a 4035 and wanted to upgrade to a cab model with hydrostatic transmission. After looking at the various brands and models, I determined that the new 3500 series Mahindra was overpriced for the tractor. Nobody had a 3540 cab model in stock yet, and maybe the price will come down as time goes on, but it's actually not much heavier than the Kioti NX series (300lbs heavier) and the NX series has a very comparable loader as far as lift capacity goes, in fact the NX series loader is rated for 360lbs more than my 4035 (the new Mahindra 3540 has an upgraded loader compared to the ML120 on the 4035) and has better cycle times than the Mahindra. I found the NX4510 very comparable to the 3540 Mahindra, except in price. I ended up buying a 60hp Kioti NX6010 cab/HST, for far less than what a Mahindra 3540 would have cost. Comparing the quotes that peterc38 got, $7500 difference. That's a pretty big price gap there. You're not getting significantly more tractor, 300lbs more weight but 5hp less. The Mahindra does have bigger tires, 3 inches higher lift capacity, and higher breakout force, as well as a non-DPF engine. The mCRD engine without a DPF is an nice feature, but only time will tell whether it is actually worth spending more money for. I sure couldn't see enough value in the extra cost of the Mahindra.

The non cab'd 40hp Mahindra 35 series is 300+ pounds more than the cab'd NX6010. The Mahindra 10 series cab'd tractor [5010, etc] has a simular ' build ' as the NX. But a cab'd 35 series is probably 1500+ pounds heavier than that NX, and agian, is a whole different animal. Real easy to get confused with all the new model numbers coming out.

Just curious where you are getting your numbers from? The spec sheet from when I bought my 4035 says 4,367lbs for the PST model. The NX4510 non cab, Gear model weighs 4,065 so that's only 302 lbs difference for the comparable model. The NX6010 cab weighs 4,548 lbs so that's 181 lbs heavier than my non-cab 4035. The new 3540 (40 hp) is the same weight as the old 4035. Now if you compare the new 3550 to the NX series, there's a lot bigger weight difference there.

OK I see if you compare the open station 4035 HST model to the NX6010 Cab/HST, the 4035 is 181 lbs heavier. According to the Mahindra specs, the HST option adds 450 lbs of weight, where Kioti's specs don't show a weight increase. Odd.

I don't trust all the numbers they post, either.... but don't have a big
scale handy. Last thing I weighed like that was my Dodge Cummins which came in at 7100 empty... :)
