I’ve had pretty good results with Majic paint, BUT I’ve been using a pressure pot sprayer which makes all the difference with difficult paints. I usually spray industrial paints and epoxies which give the extreme durability but are often very difficult to spray. Majic sprays like a low end industrial and seems to be a very durable paint for the grade of paint. Sadly if you are trying for good results with spray cans, will find none do very well. They are all just to thin to give a decent mil thickness without doing an insane number of coats and that thinness means little viscosity which means easy runs.

TSC still carries a few Van Sickle products - they have an anti-stick coating in quart cans that I just used on my old Cub Cadet mower deck. It seems to be great stuff.

Called "EZ Slide" - IIRC, the manufacturer name on the can was something different than Van Sickle, but I contacted them to confirm that they were the same company, just different divisions.

Ditto. Majic sucks. Valspar much better.

I heard Lowe's carries Valspar.

Wonder if it is the tractor and inmplement paint like TSC used to carry.

Carquest carries valspar too. At least the one in Mt Vernon does. But not much selection and gallons only. Only the popular stuff. Like JD yellow, JD green, Ford red and grey, and maybe only a few others. Thats why my snowplow got JD yellow.

The Van Sickle Kubota II was a perfect match to the Kubota, which is what I bought it for, and also a perfect match for the Kioti. It seems to be good paint.

I re-checked my half-used cans last night - the Van Sickle "subsidiary" is "Tallmans Industrial Coatings". I needed a good/compatible primer for the EZSlide, and Van Sickle recommended their Tallmans. They are the same company. So if you run across any of that, it is good stuff.

My experience was "No". The Loews in my area carry mostly interior paints with a very small selection of basic enamel. They got all confused when I asked them if they could order the Valspar tractor & implement paint and I'd pick up when it came in. Got the same reaction from several hardware stores and car parts places, too. Finally gave up on the idea of supporting my local retailers because they sure weren't about to support me and ordered it from Amazon. Was able to get Kubota Orange (the old K color) in quarts, which will work better for the amout of paint that I'll be mixing and spraying at any one time. Should be delivered at the house, today.

None of the paint brands at the big box stores are like the older good stuff like Valspar’s reputation was built on. All those formulas are mixed to be economical for the average buyers. Would have to find a commercial/industrial supplier to get the better long lasting grades. Also many of the industrial paints come in very limited colors, or do not do as well in custom color blends.
