Major Failure

Is there any chance the subframe was not bolted tight? This sounds like the type of failure the subframe is supposed to stop. I found loose bolts on the front end of my tractor when it was new and I'm sure that can happen on other tractors in other places.

Whatever the reason, you haven't mentioned warranty (that I remember) and I hope you are covered. As a second backup, if you had insurance on the tractor, that would surely cover anything not covered under warranty. Good luck!

Were you able to get a picture of this. It sounds educational.

Yeah, I'd LOVE to see pics too, at the very least, to know where to look extra carefully during routine maint..

What kind of front end loader?

Was it a New Holland FEL or an aftermarket FEL?

Is it a standard FEL or one with other attachments on it e.g., grapple, forks?

I had a MF split the entire length of the transmission case. It happened after a gear lost a tooth. It wedged into the engaging gear and the impending interference created enough force to open the entire case. We simply parted out the tractor, to rebuild the tractor and replace the case was more then the MF was worth.

The loader was a New Holland loader. It was equiped with a 4 and 1 bucket. Did not break at bolt holes. The break was in the middle of the housing behind where the loader mounts.
The tractor is out of warranty and New Holland does not want to help with repairs. The bucket fell to the ground because the tractor broke in the middle. If this had happened while tractor was moving could have been serious safety issue.

"The tractor is out of warranty and New Holland does not want to help with repairs"

Is that from the NH dealership.. or New Holland HQ. I would think warranty or not.. this is a liability issue.. the tractor should not break in half. I think a letter from your lawyer would help things along.

I searched a little.. but isn't there a clause in some warranties about lifetime warranty on material defects?

Can you get some more pics? It's very hard to tell in that shot what broke, and where..
