Note the words "RETURN IT TO" in the warranty. He did not buy them, so he can't "return" them.
I beg to differ. The warranty never says that the person who is returning the tool must be the original purchaser. Nor does it say anything about abusing the tools. It says, "If the tool fails to satisfy FOR ANY REASON." Any reason at all.
And near as I can tell, he did the service of cleaning the tools up off the road where they could have been a hazard. If the original owner had stopped to pick them up, then you might have a point, but as far as I'm concerned, they're as legitimately his as if he'd bought them.
