And as for the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." that's not a very good philosophy to have when it comes to maintenance. Just because it ain't broke now does not mean it won't break in the future. If you can prevent it from breaking or at least extend it's life expectancy you reduce your downtime and overall operational cost.
1. Bias ply tires worked just fine
2. Carburators worked just fine
3. vacuum windshield wipers worked just fine.
4. who need a computer and the internet.
5. who needs cable tv.
6. who needs satellite radio.
