Here comes the "Ahh, but".
I really like the independence from the bucket and had considered a loader mount for a grapple instead of the usual "on bucket" mount, - - Ahh, but...
My Bradco pallet forks have a "brick frame" (fairly sure that is the proper name) to prevent the load from rolling back onto the tractor.
To get a grapple over that would require a high mount and/or some pretty complex bent grapple arms.
Not saying it couldn't be done, just that it poses a design problem.
Measuring from just under the lip of the Skid Steer upper attach point to the top edge of my bucket is about 3 inches.
The same measurement on the pallet forks is about 22 inches.
Right now I'm thinking about two different attachment heights for the cross rail that would hold the grapple, perhaps even something height adjustable, say inner/outer square posts with holes punched every 2 inches or so.
Then there is the arm length itself, but I havn't thought very much about what I would want/need clamped onto pallet forks - other than logs.
Clearly more thunkin' is needed
and clearer thunkin' before I rush into implementation
