Gotta start somewhere, Harv. I ain't got a link and stuff, but I've heard it quoted (in context with the catholic church's ongoing and recently publicized problem) that homosexual pedophiles rack up about 100 attacks per pervert to the hetero's 6-10. So, even though I can't show support (but I can put you in touch with the person who can), I'd say there's a really good chance to put the emphasis where it will do the most good. Stop 100 attacks per person, or 10. Combining both sets of statistics tell me there's just more hetero perverts out there, which correlates with estimates that the homosexual population is very small, contrary to what we are led, nay driven, to believe. Of course, my error is to emphasize the real victim and not victimize the criminal, a heartless and intolerant thing to do on my part. /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

Having heterosexuals in the house isn't the same as homosexuals, because one is struggling with sexual perversion (unless they both are, and the naughty hetero didn't tell me /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif). This isn't a personal thing, Harv - don't make it one. My statement about homosexuality being a perversion is not a judgement; it's a belief. I've had to learn to refocus the emphasis from the people to the problem - we all find it easy to do that with alcoholism vs alcoholic, and we're all very comfortable denouncing alcoholism (even as we "learn" that it is genetic!) without the fear of committing a hate crime against alcoholics, or being labelled alcoholophobic /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif. And I know plenty of alkys who function just fine.

I've had two friends who struggled with homosexual temptations, and I know how hard it is - especially because their supposed "brothers" in faith can't separate the sin from the sinner in this area. As I said, we don't do that with alcoholism, obesity, gossip, or adultery; just sexual perversions. It's wrong, and I'm sorry. Equally wrong is the downplaying by the PC crowd in the media of homosexual assaults (unless it's in conjunction with religion). And I don't care to endlessly debate whether pedophilia should be discussed in terms of **** and heterosexuality - another blurring of the issue by the PC crowd. **** means same, equal, alike; combined with sexuality it means same, equal, or alike sexuality. Likewise with hetero. I know we've had eight years of redefenition of the English language, but truth is truth, regardless of whether it is recognized.

So I'd beg to differ with your statistical conclusion. Moral relativism muddies the waters, and the innocent are always the losers. We need to decide what kind of world we want to leave our children - the ones we don't chose to kill before they get a chance to taste the air, that is.

I've got to confess something. Your username, it brings a smile to my face everytime I see it. You see when I was a kid my father had a cat, a yellow tailess tabby. He was a manx. He was also more cantankerous than a junkyard dog with mange and a stomach ache. He didn't like anything but my dad. But thinking about that cat and my dad makes me smile. And your username, same as the cat's, brings that memory around as a grin generator.

When I first read that line I thought maybe your anchor had lost it's grip. Then I read it again. It helps to do that sometimes.

I think there's some truth to that. About how a man interested in boys that is a homosexual has more victims than a man who is interested in girls who is also a heterosexual.

The biggest reason for that is the differences between how society treats homosexuals versus how it treats heterosexuals. Homosexuals are encouraged to have casual sex because committted relationships are discouraged. The old "don't tell and I'll pretend I don't know" thing we're so fond of.

But let's look at your numbers, 100 attacks per pervert to the hetero's 6-10. Most experts agree that homosexuals make up about six percent of the population. Since we're talking about male perpetrators we can use that I believe safely as a base number. So with a hundred total perpetrators we're gonna have six hundred pedophile attacks that are committed by individuals we've labeled as homosexual. And we're gonna have nine hundred and forty victims of attacks by pedophiles we've labeled as heterosexual. A curious note for you, the sixty some percent of the victims being female is on the low end of the national statistics I quoted earlier. So our numbers are not too far out of line.

But the more serious fact has to be the total number of victims, all children. And the fact that the attackers are all adults.

And pedophiles are pedophiles who happen to also be homosexual or heterosexual.

I don't understand that statement at all. And I've got to get off to work. But I'll try to answer some more of your post this evening.

Y'know, ever since they brought out that new "Austin Powers" movie, I've had to chuckle myself at everyone who is a Gold Member. It probably takes a knucklehead to make that connection.

We're just a little group with bad tractor sickness, and I guess it doesn't matter too much how much we gab online (my wife calls you guys my girlfriends) but I am glad I can write this particular post (#300 - no more Goldmember for me) in this tone.

Thanks, Harv, for your reply. I was waiting for it this morning. I wanted to speak my mind, but I was afraid it might get mis-interpreted because of your personal experience. Thanks for catching the intended tone, and for recognizing I am not attacking you or your son. Your words echo the problem we have with people who can't see an individual's worth through their actions. This doesn't mean I want to set all criminals free - I truly think some should be killed (not murdered)- like the subject of this thread, if guilty (in fact, I think kidnapping and rape should be capital offenses, so we should kill him three times). I have friends who are dear brothers and sisters in faith who disagree with capital punishment vehemently, as they think we should not play God and end someone's life before they have a chance to reconcil themselves to Him. I disagree, and we both continue to call ourselves Christians.

I don't think we should turn a blind eye to problematic behavior because those exhibiting that behavior are persecuted. I'm right in step with you about protecting children from all predatory adults. And protecting other adults, too. It seems the world could use a consulting service, made up of good, hearty fellas, who could be called to deliver a special message to those who pound their wives and kids. Sometimes the only thing certain people understand is that type of thing. I detest those government "Ad Council" commercials where someone is shouting and manhandling their wife in a restaurant, and Mr. Caspar Milquetoast is sitting six feet away looking worried with his wife and kids. But I digress, as usual.

I'm still a little skeptical of the apparent detachment of sexual preference from the issue - I've seen it a lot - why is it important to do so? I can only guess it is part of the attempt to normalize various sexual preferences - which I consider an error. Is that you doing the same thing as my alcoholic/alcoholism example? Are there non **** or hetero sexuals in the world? You can't count Michael Jackson anymore - he displayed preferences!

Oh, that "victimize the criminal" thing was an add-in not directly related to the subject. It's also important because society seems to be going too far in its attempt to "normalize" sexual perversion, i.e. NAMBLA. The victims, in this case kids, lose again.

The preditors need to be dealt with in public or like another said about the sex change and sending them to a mens prison.

I remember something a lot of you probably have never seen. I am originally from Virginia. The state of "Common Wealth". In my young years somewhere around 5 to 7 years old... there was a public hanging in the courthouse yard in Independence, Virginia. I don't remember why they were hung but two people were hanged to death in public. I remember it as if it was yesterday as far as seeing it. This may not have effect on adults to deter them from crime but, the younger people will think many times before doing something illegal if they were to see this... in my opinion.

Some one also said in this thread..."Let the punishment Fit The Crime".... I totally agree. As long as there are bleeding hearts out there there will not be public hangings until something happens to one of their friends or family... then they change their tune.

I think that the people that are proven by scientific ways to have done the crime... they should be put to death at that time... not years later at the expense of tax payers keeping them with 3 Hots and a cot and better medical coverage than the average person can afford. In other words... if they were caught red handed and proven guilty... they should die immediately if given the death penalty. If we do not get tough on crime and such... it will continue to get out of hand and continue to happen.

Back to the sexual preditors. I raised four children and I still worry about them. I have three sons and a daughter. Now I have a Grandson... I know I would be on a hunt if a sexual preditor or anyone else hurt one of them. Believe me they would pray for the law to get to them before I got to them.

I pray for all the familys out there having to live with this happening to one of their loved ones. I also pray for God to protect the ones out there that are being targeted by these SICKo's! We as people have to demand that our government passes laws that will deter this. Atleast get tough of sexual preditors. They are not worthy of our judicial system. They need to be dealt with Much More Severely!!

Now with that off my chest. I am a God fearing man and I try to live right. I know that if I killed anyone I would have to answer for that at Judgement Day. I don't think God would be happy with me killing anyone except in self defense.

I agree with the statement above. But the anger in me because they have done these things to young children and others makes me want to do harm to them. God's wrath on them would surely be much worse than man could do. However... the bible says an "Eye for an Eye and a Tooth for a Tooth" and it also says that we should "Keep the Laws of the Land". So the laws of the land should be changed to deal with these preditors and swiftly put them in front of God for Judgement.
