Is that a bad thing? Not everything requires a lawsuit. Lawsuits suing everybody and their dog is how we got into this mess.
I think you miss read what I was saying. The company sent something that was probably an appropriate thing to do. That ended up hurting them, yet the response the company gave may have prevented a lawsuit with different individuals.
I think part of the problem has been that companies have laws that protect the individuals too far. If I steal thousands of dollars, I'll go to jail for grand theft, but if I create a charity or corporation that schemes people out of money I'll likely get a slap on the wrist. This has created an anomosity amoung people towards companies. I think the Supreme Court is the only entity that thinks a company is a person.
