You Mahindra guys will be happy to know, there is a LOT more RED at the Ohio power show this year than about any other color.
I didn't count them but there were a BUNCH of Mahindra's there this year. Last year there were only a small handful. They are serious aren't they?

I like their tractors a lot.

I do not think there is any new products hear at the show from Mahindra.

One rep keeps saying that Mahindra will be rolling out by spring a number of new compacts including a 18hp compact, all from Mitsubishi plus a Chinese tractor from the Jingling factory they bought. He says the Mishu units will be from the same series that Cub is currently using for their 30+- hp tractor. And then I hear that another rep is saying that their will be no more new mitsu tractors but they will have a whole new line of compacts in 2007 from India. What is the real story or does anyone really know?

The factory rep I talked to in Columbus said they make the different series in 3 different places -- Korea, India, and Japan. He didn't mention China, unless I just lost it amongst all the stuff I tried to take in today.

He did say there is a new smaller series coming soon. FWIW, my FIL thought they were the best tractors we saw, and we hit all 4 buildings today. I asked him why, since I really respect this guys opinion about tractors given that he made his living farming for quite a few years. He said he couldn't really put his finger on it, but the thing (15 series with Mahindra loader) just seemed to be better than the others we looked at. This is a guy who bought an A/C WD-45 new and it, along with the 8N bought new, are both still in the family. He farmed a couple hundred acres, raised a lot of cows, chickens, hogs, and grain while supporting his family and putting two kids through college with the farm as the sole source of income. He knows tractors more or less instinctively, and Mahindra got his vote as the best tractor in the 20-30 hp range.

Thanks for the reply. As for ( they make the different series in 3 different places -- Korea, India, and Japan ) Mahindra only make tractors in India, the tractors made in Japan (15 series) are Mitsubishi and the tractors made in Korea (10 series) are TYM. Glad to hear your you had a god time at the show.

You guys might find this interesting. I work with a lot of people from India and I asked a lady from India if she had ever heard of Mahindra. She said "OH, Yes they are considered the best tractor you can own in India". From that I gathered that they are the JD and Kubota's of india. India has a lot of agriculture and a lot of very talented engineers - Though I understand we taught them how to make the Mahindra with our engineers.

But people from India have a focus on quality and I understand that Mahindra tractors are one very quality tractor.

I've been to India, including the tractor manufacturing plant in Mumbai and the Jeep plant as well. Very first class! Plus we got to look at some of the new Mahindra SUV's. You would think they were Japanese made, right down to fancy leather seats. Interesting, all of them had manual transmissions, not an auto to be found. All over India you see Mahindra tractors, Jeeps, SUV's, pickups, etc. They also own resorts. We went to one in Goa that was beautiful by any standard. Make no mistake, Mahindra is huge.

I believe, but haven't confirmed 100%, we will see the new 2815 and 3215 Mahindra models at the World AG Expo in Tulare California February 14-16. It is the largest farm equipment show in the world. Mahindra will be at M36. We should have a good cross section of tractors.
