I'll have to agree with you there. My son checks all the buckets and the ones with the least amount of sap are piker trees. We've made 1 qt of syrup and it came out pretty dark but tasty!!!/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I'm going to expand my operation next year and look into getting a barrel evaporator kit next year. You can get them through Leader Evaporator in St. Albans Vt.

Looks like a lot of fun. I would not mind trying that myself, but I have only a few Maple trees. I have never heard of Oak syrup. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Also I love those little bottels you got. Where did you find them?

We our only tapping 5 maples. Don't know how much syrup we will get in the long run but we are having fun in the mean time.

My wife brought maple syrup in those bottles because she liked the bottles. You see them for sale at all the tourist spots in NH. The link that Chris gave in the post directly above you has them for sale but you need to buy a case.

Phil,

I've bought individual bottles/cans/jugs from Leader; there's no case-minimum that I know of.

Leader also has local dealers that carry many of their products; check out "Dealers" from the Leader web page to see if there's one nearby you.
