Kubota BX1860V
I have a Kubota BX1860V that the 3 point hitch just dropped down hard all by itself ,engine running not on tractor at the time. The Dealer said they removed a rear cover plate on rear of transmission and oil was spraying inside when they tried to lift hitch. They are not sure what is problem,Kubota said no oil should be in this area and they did not know. They want several thousand to disassemble and see what is wrong.Any help would be Great.

Ouch! Is it out of warranty? Do you have KTAC insurance? Either of those would keep the expense down to a few hundred.
Good Luck!

And :welcome: to TBN!

Out of warranty, and KTAC ran out with last payment. Not sure what I will do. Probably have it fixed and then try to go back to Kubota.

Assuming you're from the town of Mars and not the planet, there should be other dealers in that area. I'd take it somewhere else and ask for an estimate. It might cost several thousand to fix the problem, but it does not seem like it should cost several thousand dollars to figure out what's wrong and give you an estimate. Do you have mechanical skills? You can get a lot of help on this forum if you try to fix it yourself.

Attached is picture of what failed,Kubota said it failed because of rear draw blade was on and caused failure due to blade bouncing up and down. This caused fluid to build up pressure and blew case open. kubota.jpg. Total repair so far is over $2000.00. Kubota after my many complaints will consider paying around $800.00 and work with dealer on labor.Has anyone ever seen this happen. Kubota said it should not fail but are reluctant to say it was a defect.

Unless you have a 12' wide blade on your tractor, you aren't doing anything I'm not doing. I have a rear blade on my tractor all winter long. When they told you having a rear blade on caused the failure is a pretty lame excuse. Think about how much more a box blade or tiller weighs.

My exact response was about the counter box weight they sell when using the front loader, these weigh more than my 5 foot blade. They just settled with me for $720.00. Total bill was over $2200.00. Kubota paid for parts and some labor. Shame you have go into this kicking and sreaming to get what is just. The other part needed was a valve that directs fluid for hitch or front loader,it was restricted. This could have caused the whole problem.

Its good they helped you out, but unless you did something strange to cause the problem, it was a defective part.

Do you know why the valve was restricted? Foreign matter? Steel from manufacturing process? Crap in the oil from ???
