A co-worker has a Massey 1190 that's giving him fits....

It's an 1190 made by Iseki with an Isuzu 2.8 turbodiesel.

The problem he's having is that when it's under load for a short while it will start to loose power. If he lets it sit at idle a bit it will power right up again for a while and then repeat. Each time though it has less endurance before loosing power again.

I was thinking it may be a fuel issue? He changed the filters (both). I suggested he check the banjo bolts for mesh screen but we didn't get that far with it yet. I had a small feeling that's probably not going to offer much anyway....

It doesn't appear to be overheating, and I can't find any flaw with the motor. (Somewhere around 2800hrs).

Any thoughts? 25 years ago I had a Farmall SMD that did the exact same thing.....It turned out to be a bearing getting tight on the crank until one day it killed the engine by seizing completely. On this "Modern" Isuzu I absolutely cannot (or want) to see that being the case.

Go back to the fuel issue. Do check the banjo bolts and screens. No need to worry about crank bearings yet.

Also, you may have sediment in the bottom of your fuel tank clogging the outlet

collapsing fuel line can cause issue also. does sound like fuel starvation per your post.

It does sound like a fuel issue but just for grins you may wish to check the air filter.
