- 2008 Kubota M7040 4WD w/loader, 1979? Mitsubishi D2600 4WD w/loader
So I have zero experience...the local dealers have neither on the lot to see in person and it's hard to tell scale from pics unless they are side by side.
I'm very heavily leaning to a 2607h Massey, I know roughly the size is between the big compacts and the 4700s. The 4700 series is just too big for my property dimensions.
I'm weighing the Kioti RX6620 against it but I have no RXs around to compare to and I can't tell if the RX is 4700 size or more like the 2600h series.
Anyone have any idea?
I'm looking at open stations for either one.
These tractors are on my list because of their weight and their beefier loader specs for weight and HP. I will be doing utility work, property maintenance, woods/trail work and the loader arms will be getting a workout with a grapple for pushing and clearing and lifting. The space I have to work in is a big constraint as is my current storage option which is basically a car sized garage bay door that is 7' high x 8' wide.
The 2600h seems to have the most weight and power in the smallest (relatively) overall dimensions.
Kingsqueak,
The Kioti RX6620 is slightly larger than the 2607h Massey, but likely not enough to make a difference in use. The Kioti is definitely not as large as the 4700 series. The RX6620 wheelbase is 1" longer while the tractor is 5" longer. If you have a Kubota or John Deere dealer nearby the M6060/7060 and the 5000E series are also similar in size. (The Kubota has the same wheelbase as the Kioti and overall length as the Massey; The Deere has the same wheelbase as the Massey and is 4" longer - almost the same as the Kioti).
Once you start using the machine you would only notice the difference in length when trying to park. NOTE: Each tractor manufacturer's loaders are a little different, so the overall length with the loader installed might be the same on these models. You might have to shorten the exhaust, but the Massey will definitely fit in a 7' door with the ROPS folded down (Operating height with the ROPS up is 95"). The Kioti is taller at 106" with the ROPS up but I believe it will also fit with the ROPS folded down.
I have a Kubota M7040 which is the same size as these machines you are looking at and think you are making an excellent choice! My M7040 has the cast centers for the rear tires which offsets the ~1,000 lb difference in base weight. I do not have a grapple but have used it extensively in the woods and moved many large rocks with pallet forks. I think you will be happy with either machine.
