redman135 -Hmmmm...Thanks for that tip on checking the rubber boot at the tractor end of the top link. That detail has escaped my attention for, oh , 42 years now ! ( But I did replace the shift lever boots ! )

Go to a MF dealer for rubberparts, some of the cheap ones is rotten after a year in the sun.
