Massey 471 clutch

Just bought this tractor two weeks ago. Was wondering if it is common to have to release clutch almost all the way before it engages?

I have a 251 with the Massey two-stage clutch. In the 251/451 Manual, the clutch releases for the pto in the first few inches, then it picks up the clutch for the gears. The manual gives a picture with the adjustment for the 2nd stage. Did you get a manual with the tractor - even the operator's manual will be helpful.

Mybe this wil help ? 0.060" between head of bolt and intermediatplate

These tractors have a continuous running release bearing. I'm pretty sure it's appropriate for the machine to act that way.
