massey 65 deseil

I have massey 65 that needs brakes, and one of the oil seals on the end of the planitary gear leaks bad. Can some one tell me is this a job most anyone can tackle, special tool needed, etc Also where might be a good place to order parts, maybe a kit with all needed gasckets etc. to do a brake job. Thanks for any and all info. gell

If you are talking about the seal NEAREST the wheel yes you need a press and the planetary bearing will need to be preloaded ,before pulling the axle assembly out ,with the tractor sitting on level ground give the rear wheels a good rock like stand facing the wheel and put both hands on the top of the tyre and give the tractor a good rock ,you will most likely hear a CLUNK this is the tapered roller bearings loose inside so after stripping ,cleaning and fitting a new seal and possibly new bearings the assembly must be preloaded which require a certain ammount of knowledge and special tools I would suggest taking the complete axle assembly to your local Massey dealer.
