Massey equivalent Agco

Hi All,

Quick question that I hope someone knows the answer to. Was suggested that I look here.

Can anyone tell me what the Massey Equivalent is to the Agco ST30X and the Agco 40X ?

Hey 777777,
From what I could find it seems the st30 is similar to either the Massey 1428 or 1423, I couldn't tell because the st30 hp was between the two.
The st40 appears to compare to the 1433 Massey. You can look at tractordata.com for the AGCO specs and Massey's site for the 1400s specs. That's where I found them.
In your post in the other forum you inquired as to the Iseki engines. I have 50 hours on my Massey 1533 and so far it has been reliable with plenty of power for everything I would expect the tractor to do. I have a couple of things I could use a 70 hp tractor for, but for 99% of my needs the 1533 is more than sufficient. Hope this helps you.

AGCO ST30X = MF 1233
AGCO ST30 = MF 1235

AGCO ST40/ST40X = 1260

As far as Iseki goes, these are really bullet proof. I had a 1981 bolens (Iseki) that never failed and it was run hard......It was stolen otherwise I'd still have it. I now have a MF GC2300 with the Iseki and I love it too!

After L serial numbers.
St 30x = 1428V
St40 = 1440
St40x = 1440v

I thought that was kind of strange after posting it, since it came out of my MF1433 / 1440 shop manual. I thought that there might have been a later print because of the lack of the 1400 series.

Thanks for the clarification. Makes a bit more sense in what I have been looking at.

Sure don't see many Agco compacts around or even available.

Is it because of poor marketing or lack of dealer participation in the compact tractor market.

The answer is both to some extent. Older dealers that have been Ag only, seem to have a very hard time accepting compact tractors. Given the sales volume that compacts have seen in the last few years it doesn't make much sense. Looks like they would be glad to pickup the extra sales, but some seem to be stuck in a later time. As far as marketing goes, AGCO/MF has never been very good at advertising. In this day and time, it is necessary. Looks like that they would open up their eyes and see that. They have many very good products but they need to present them to the public in a much different way than what they currently do.
