What is a good running mf 1010 2wd manual shift 1320 hrs on it worth? Everything works and it has turf tires on it that are decent. If I buy it will it handle a 4 ft bushhog/ disc/ box?

I can offer a reference. A local dealer has been trying to sell a VERY nice Massey 1010 with 217 hours and cab. This one is a 4x4 and the dealer has had it for more than two years.

His asking price is $4900 and that has been the price since day one.

The tractor you are looking at will handle a 4' bushhog.

Do some reading about replacement parts availability on this machine. The lack of some parts kept me from considering the machine I referenced locally.

What kind of parts are hard to come by? I traded for the tractor earlier today. Runs and works great. I've only got $800 in it. If vital parts are hard to come by though, I'd be better off selling it I guess. What's it worth?

Anybody? I had thought about keeping it but parts for the engine are hard to come by according to all my dead end calls today. Unless someone knows what to do incase of a failure where u need to rebuild an engine or where to get parts that I'm unaware of, I don't want to risk using it and ending up with a parts tractor. Anyone want to chime in on a value or a parts location or both???

You've only got $800 in the tractor? Use it...heck if you can get 50-100 hours out of it and sell it for parts you'll be ahead.

Will

Looks like Japanese built tractor, wonder who made it?
If so, it must be reliable. First time I have heard of Toyosha engine.

They are very reliable tractors. 1000hours is nothing on that engine. Its still got another 4000+ hours to go till some engine work might be needed. I got close to 5000 hours on my 1020 and no problems anywhere. Keep up on maintnence and it will last a good long time.

As for parts I am sure they are available just need to look around.

I have to heat the glow plugs regardless of the temp outside. Even in 90* weather. Is that normal for a indirect injection engine? I've read both both views. It doesn't have any blow by though. Light bushhogging and grading the drive is all I will use it for.

Gonna keep and use it until I sell or trade it. Thx for the feedback. Maybe nothing impossible to find will break.

My Kubota L285 is the same way but after asking everyone assured me that's normal for older small Japanese diesels.

Thanks!

Small Japanese diesels seem to need a lot of glow plug time in comparison to British or Indian diesels.

How about an update.

How's the MF 1010 working out for you?

Very hard to find parts

I just took possession of a 1010 that will need parts... probably lots of them. This is not the news I was hoping to find.
Hey CanDoAttitude! Welcome to TBN ! With that name You seem to have already given up  ! I'm willing to bet that You can find almost any part for that M-F 1010 there where several other name plates built on that platform here is a few AGCO, Bolens, Challenger, & White . Here are a few possible part suppliers, Ag tractors parts, Yesterdays Tractors, & Steiner tractor parts ;)& there are a few salvage yards that come to mind as well ,Start of with E-bay & I'm sure will find several links, & last check it out with a Massey-Ferguson part supplier, They have a good link with other dealers thru AGCO , It might not be cheap but they might have just what your looking for:cool:. I've a 1959 M-F 50 gasoline ,& I've yet not been able to find any part I needed for her & the longest down time I had was a week waiting for a part & looking for the part & I've had this tractor for 25 years & she gets used year round(y).

The tractor was made by Hinomoto in Japan in the 80s. The only source likely for parts would be a grey market specialist dealer; i would google for a place like that. Sold in US under Ago/Deuz Allis/Allis Chalmers brands. I owned an earlier 2 cylinder one (MF 210) that did have Toyosha engine; my clutch was getting soft and I was very concerned about finding parts so i traded it for a kubota.

Thanks can do and MiniDonkey22!

I am just getting started on the journey to get this machine back into service. I appreciate the tips on where to start digging around.

Hey CanDoAttitude ! I checked out the M-F 1010 on E-bay & there are numerous part suppliers & the M-F 1010 had a pretty good production run of 12 years so parts should be numerous (y), Check your data plate to see what year the tractor was manufactured & go to tractor data.com & it'll show You what year it was manufactured ,Also I would get a manual if You don't have one & also check out as many part no. that You can see & log them & You can use it as a future reference;), The 1st place I would start again is E-bay & make yourself familiar with your M-F 1010.
