So brought in some firewood up from the barn the other night. Turned off the tractor, brought the firewood in and went back out. Warmed the glow plugs and turned the ignition and only a click from the solenoid. No crank over. Tried again and it turned right over. Turned it off. Tried again. Nothing, save the solenoid click.
Ran a test light to the starter lead. Turned the ignition and light comes on so power getting to the starter, check. Tested the battery, 12 volts strong, check.
Could there be a kill switch like a neutral kill that is on the fritz or is it likely the starter? Not familiar with all of the kill switches nor if any of them had been deactivated or modified by the previous owner. No idea where to find them on the 1250 to check and can't find any good references online.
Much appreciate any help or insight before I haul off and blow up $270 on a starter rebuild.
Thanks!
